iKraveit Foods — Restaurant in New York

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made the mistake of giving them a second chance after a previous bad experience and that definitely won't happen again. Here's why:

The order arrived 20 minutes late. It was delivered by a child. A CHILD. As in, a 12-13 year-old kid. Didn't know that was legal (it's not). The food arrived cold. My boyfriend ordered a double cheeseburger that was squished and soggy. Fries were soggy. I ordered their vegan burger which tasted like a grossly undercooked beyond burger. I took one bite and threw it out. Even if the food arrived on time and hot, the quality was akin to high school cafeteria food. Which is not worth the $30 the two burgers and fries cost us. We contacted Seamless (where we placed the order) and let them know all of the above. After speaking with the restaurant, the Seamless rep let us know that IKraveIt only approved a 50% refund (basically, one of the two burger/fries combos we had an issue with). My boyfriend called the restaurant to demand a full refund based on all of the above. He was calm and respectful, but the person he spoke with gave him an attitude, raised his voice at him, and told him to contact Seamless--which we'd already done--then HUNG UP on him. BF then called back and the manager was the one who answered the phone. He finally agreed to a full refund then, but we are still waiting to make sure that money comes through.

Don't order from this place if you value your time and the money you work hard for. And it pains me to say that, since it's one of the few places in the neighborhood with an expansive vegan menu. Unfortunately, it's just not worth the hassle and...

Has potential but the menu seriously needs work. The first few times we ordered from there, the sandwiches were great and I definitely would have given a higher rating. But the last couple of times have been unacceptable.

The Sicilian Sandwich should have been easy to make but they screwed it up by putting some super sour old sundried tomatoes that ruined the whole thing. I have never tasted tomatoes that taste like that!

The Chicken Fajita panini also has a very simple ingredient list but they really messed this one up. I don't know what peppers they used but it was way overpoweringly spicy and I couldn't even finish it. The real problem though was, I almost broke a tooth on a huge seed of some kind, for no apparent reason, just thrown into the mix! There are NO seeds in a fajita sandwich!!

Long story short, beware of what you order. There are some very good items and some that they have no business trying to make. The issue is that they are trying to offer a huge variety instead of just a few quality items that they can prepare well. If you don't know how to make a particular item, then please be honest and either hire someone who does or remove the item from the menu. If they were to downsize the menu, they might have a chance at being great (24 hour service is nice). For now though, I will not order from...

This place is a vegan paradise! I came all the way from Midtown West to visit this place. My friend Vincent told me I had to see it to believe it.

They have vegan options GALORE! And not just "oh yeah they can switch the mest out for tofu". No! They have an entire vegan menu with all sorts of inventive sandwiches and wraps.

You know how often when non-vegans cater to vegans, you can tell they don't eat it themselves because it's just bland and uninmaginitive? Well I had the spiced seitan on a Kaiser roll and it was incredible. Not too hot/spicy. Beautifully seasoned. And the seitan was shredded finely so that it mixed beautifully with the sauce and avocado. They have vegan cheese, vegan mayo, even vegan cream cheese! The options are incredible. I plan to go back again to try their breakfast sandwich with soy sausage, vegan bacon, and cream cheese!

And in their grocery section, THEY HAVE OATLY! Large cartons for sale, both regular and chocolate!!! And ice cream. I'm sure I'm forgetting many of their options.

The staff is friendly and professional. The prices are great. And the variety is so satisfying!

Why don't I have anything like this before me at 57th & 11th??? Go figure... Astoria...
