Came in for Easter brunch as this place was on several listicles specifically for that (I didn’t know Easter brunch was a thing that people did, admittedly, so I was very surprised at how busy it was.) Not sure if it was bc of the holiday or if it was just the natural vibe but it felt a little stuffy, ha. Definitely more business meeting vibes than weekend brunch vibes.
Service was quick/efficient though the staff was a bit cold and standoffish. The food was incredible. We were able to chose between a few items off the prix fie menu. I went with the avocado tartine and the salmon. The flavors were incredible. Portions are on the smaller side, but wow. Who knew a dish so simple could be so explosive. The flavors were strong and umami, and the brunch cocktail was a great addition/pairing. For dessert we got the apple tart (it was okay) and the macarons (very tasty) and an espresso each (very good!) I’m very curious about their regular menu and would definitely return should I find myself...
Read moreI have been to this establishment a few times. Food, staff, ambience is outstanding. Was there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The appetizers and desserts were amazing. Three of us ordered the duck l'orange. I have had this dish in several other french restaurants, including Paris. The duck was disappointing. The portion was way to small, the duck was tough and more like steak than duck. The peppercorns detracted from the overall taste of the dish. I did NOT say anything to the waitstaff because two others in the party seemed to be enjoying it. After dinner, I found out they had the same thoughts as I did. I mentioned it to the server who told me had I told her right away, she would have brought me something else. This was MY FAULT - not theirs. At dessert time, they brought a fruit tart which we did not order, but was their way of doing something to make me happy. As I love fruit tarts, I was in heaven. I would go back in a heart beat, but just would not...
Read moreI don't normally take time to write bad reviews, but I did think this experience was worth noting from a business dinner earlier this week. Our waiter was awkward and unprofessional, hindering our experience. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre and he essentially said their Sancerre isn't good. Then he started condescendingly explaining that there was a better wine from the same Loire region (not in a helpful, suggestive way). I am familiar with the wine/region he recommended and politely declined. When we ordered the Sancerre, he genuinely seemed upset about us not following his direction. He forgot the sparkling water and imposed himself awkwardly throughout the dinner. The fois gras and oysters were delicious, the scallops were sub-par, but it really was the service that is source of this review. I guess if you go - don't order Sancerre! (By the way the Sancerre was actually delicious and the highlight of...
