This is a gem. You would think it's just another around the corner pizza joint from the outside, even from the inside, it's nothing out of the ordinary. However, one bite of their pizzas, and you are tempted to take another bite. Sure enough, the pizza on display are pre made, but when it's done right, it's a beautiful thing. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. It's nothing out of the ordinary. The slice came out piping hot, crisp on the bottom and yet fluffy on the side. It's firm but not brick hard, crispy and not dry. That's good technique when someone is reheating a pre made pizza slice. Most of the time, people don't care and you either get a luke warm slice that's soggy and limp, or a slice that's borderline burnt. Then I ordered another ordinary meatball spaghetti to take away. Again it's a simple dish that can go wrong. But they've done it right. I went back again tonight, having pre ordered the food online. When I went to pickup, the staffs were friendly and smiling. The food came out piping hot again and it's delicious. This is easily by leaps better than Lucali that I visited a few months ago. I wasn't impressed with that place because of the attitude, the hype and generally the food quality. This one, La Vera, is way better in terms of food quality, friendliness of staffs and a good price point (for Manhattan standard).

I’m not sure if the pizza we had was just old or wasn’t made correctly or whatever other reason it may have been but the pizza here is mediocre. I tried to like it but it was just not very satisfying. The crust had no salt and tasted like cardboard and the sauce had no flavor. The only good part about this pizza was the cheese or rather the only thing I enjoyed anyways. I think they could definitely use more spices in all steps of their pizza making process. And again, I try to not eat too much salt but with this pizza I was practically begging for a little extra salt. Maybe it was just a bad batch/ we got there at the wrong time but 2 stars for the pizza itself. Everything else was fine (customer service was good and tables were relatively clean but place itself could’ve been maintained better)

Good pizza place open late at night. The people at the counter were friendly and the restaurant was surprisingly busy despite it being 1:30am on a Thursday night. I got a mushroom pepperoni slice. It was good! The crust of the pizza was awesome! It was perfectly crispy, chewy, and flavorful with the perfect amount of browning on the bottom! The toppings made the slice slightly too oily for my taste, but I guess that's what I get for ordering a pepperoni slice immediately after having a bowl of ramen at the shop around the corner (also open late!)... Overall would recommend this place if you're in the area and craving some late night pizza! There's also a pub next door which I didn't go to this time around but I'm sure a nice slice would HIT after a few beers!

Place is great to run in for a slice to go. I think a lot of changes has happened over the course of three years as far as mgmt and staff. This was my go to spot but had to take a break two years ago after realizing something shady was going on. Some staff members would overcharge/make up their own prices on food late night. I remember even hearing some guy ahead of me in line complain that $15 for two slices of pizza made no sense. I brushed it off thinking the guy was just drunk. When it was my turn and I heard my total, I realized pricing was wayyyyy off. I told the guy it made zero sense for two slices of cheese pizza even after tax (I work in finance so math is a daily task for me). He made up some weird excuse that it was a "specialty cheese pizza" (It was just a regular slice of cheese). Not to mention, this was the only place I EVER gave my credit card number to over the phone while placing an order and two days later, someone started using my credit card numbers at a gas station in New Jersey (this was also two years ago). So that was when I took a break and tried other places. I ended up using them recently again when a friend wanted late night pizza and had a pleasant experience but still not trying to push it. The pizza there is...

Been here twice on our 10 day stay first ordered BBQ chicken Pizza for me and the wife they miss heard me and did buffalo chicken which is spicy and the wife doesn't do spice the order was redone so waited another 15 mins not a problem I apologise for the mistake even though it was just being misheard the guy was very dismissive. A couple or days passed thought I'd try again I ordered a hamburger no pickle no tomatoe and onion rings for the wife and a meatlovers pizza for me they called cheese burger and onion rings I ignored as it wasn't what I ordered finally realised that it was my order I said I didn't respond as had ordered a Hamburger with the response yeah whatever to get back to the hotel to find it was actually a cheese burger foods ok but staff need to listen and have more manners back to UK shortly and disappointed with a place that should've made our NYC trip a bit...
