Just tried to order a pizza from this pizzeria. Not my first time. But I can say that they are always rude. Rude in person. And even rudder over the phone. Today they really took it to another level. I like the pizza there so I’ve always been able to ignore that they have no costumer skills, manners, sense of respect for their patrons. But today I called to get a cheese pie. I needed just two slices to have pepperoni. The man over the phone said “half and half” because I guess he doesn’t know how to use full sentences just phrases. I told him that he could charge me as it was a half and half pizza, but to only put pepperoni on two slices. He just keep repeating “half and half” to which I responded to just charge me like if it was a half and half pizza. You would think that wouldn’t be such a difficult task and to their advantage. But no, he then finally said more words…. He actually had the audacity to say that the pizza man could only make a half and half pizza. I asked him if he was really telling me that the pizza man could not physically stop putting pepperoni on the pizza after two slices (One quarter of the pizza) and then just charge as if he had put pepperoni on half the pizza. And his actual response was that his pizza man could only make a half and half pizza. To which I responded, no wonder they have such awful reviews online and hung up. I mean, not that I have to say it but I won’t be ordering pizza from them ever again. There’s plenty of pizza places in Manhattan. Also, the two slices of pizza were for a 4 year old that’s why I...
Read moreIf I could, I would, give this establishment a 0 because of the extremely rude reception I received today. It was quite cold out today, low 30s and I had the wrong address for my husband's oncologist. I dipped into the pizzeria with the intention of getting out of the cold long enough to Google the correct address. I knew the cost of the visit would be paying for a slice whether I needed one or not, but I didn't expect to get yelled at while I looked for a seat. I have been going to pizzerias in NYC for 40+ years and never has anyone told me that I couldn't sit down or put down my bags before ordering. My apartment in Westchester had been so overheated this morning that I had left and jumped in my car without a winter coat. When I got parked near Sloan Kettering I was surprised by the temperature and grabbed a large piece of fabric from my trunk, wrapping it around my head and shoulders like a shawl. Perhaps the staff was so nasty because he thought I was unhoused and thinks he can treat people living on the edge that way. On the other hand I was wearing pricey jewelry, a brand new velvet top & dress jeans from Talbots, a good pair of walking shoes, and carrying my laptop in an iconic Manhattan portage shoulder bag. So I think he just acts that way because he likes abusing people. The pizza itself is just so so, the crust is interesting - sort of gritty/ crunchy, but I didn't really care for it. I encourage people to take their...
Read moreTHEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY FOOD PROTOCOLS. i came in to order a slice of pizza after the gentlemen put the pizza in the oven, i watched him wipe sweat off of his face, touch the brim of his hat, & touch multiple other things with his same gloves. after my pizza was done, i saw him touch my pizza with the same gloves he used to wipe his sweat. he was about to put my pizza in the to go bag & i told him i would do it but i requested that he changes his gloves. he didn’t. so i walked to the toppings table to put my pizza in the to go bag. then the male behind the cash register asked me why he needs to change his gloves. i explained that i saw him wipe his sweat & touch multiple things with the same gloves. this guy then told me “it’s hot, if you don’t like the pizza you don’t have to eat here” i was perplexed because as a food establishment, you would think they would prioritize cleanliness. that’s clearly not the case. i asked for a refund & after going back & forth the man finally gave me a refund & told me to enjoy my pennies. extremely rude & i’m still unclear as to why when all i asked was for the young man to change his gloves. if they would do this in front of customers, i can only image what they do when customers can’t see them. this situation should not have escalated or been an issue at all since they are handling people’s food & i asked nicely despite being disgusted. if i could give this place one...
