We visited Prime for the first time with great expectations, especially after speaking with the managers, who were very polite, and understanding. Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Shirley, was disappointing and not at all in line with what we expected.
Throughout dinner, she was less than polite, not accommodating, and often absent or unreachable. Which honestly still would be okay if she had a better attitude. This experience was especially disheartening as we were celebrating a birthday. She never even brought the birthday guest his drink. It was awkwardness the whole evening and not welcoming.
We had a few additional members join us. We are gentle, understanding group, and we were perfectly fine if the restaurant couldn’t add more chairs to our table. They could sit separately and we would have happily enjoyed our evening regardless. However, Shirley handled the situation poorly—raising her voice at me in front of our party, ROLLING her neck, and speaking in a manner that felt unnecessarily abrasive and unprofessional. Even if the request could not be accommodated, there are much more courteous ways to communicate this but raising your voice and rolling your neck is not one of them. It was so awkward.
On the positive side, the food is good. The chef did a wonderful job, and both the bartender and the busser were far more attentive and helpful than our server, Shirley. Unfortunately, when the primary point of service is rude and unprofessional, it shifts the entire dining atmosphere and leaves guests feeling uncomfortable.
While I truly wanted to love this place—and in many ways, the food and other staff made it bareable—our server’s attitude overshadowed the evening. We all wanted to leave. We are paying guests not a charity or a burden. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking warm, or pleasant service. The birthday guest is a shy quiet person and I specifically told her not to sing happy birthday but she still tried to slide it in there, so odd. Then it made the whole table want to sing after. A dining experience should make guests feel heard, valued, welcome, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. Also, pulling me to the side to speak about a $35.00 cake fee, I don't understand because our bill was over $1600.00 so why pull me aside to speak about $35.00 not sure if this was to cause embarrassment but it was just awkward. We do not recommend visiting this restaurant definitely not for anything special or important. You never know what you're...
Read moreI had my 40th birthday there on Saturday, June, 29th. I have a lot of complaints regarding that evening when my friend and I spoke to Ken 2 weeks before booking this restaurant at PRIMe MET, I Was told about all the menus you offer we asked about the pre-fix menu and Ken suggested that family style would be better so I agreed, knowing family style means it is a bigger Portion of appetizers and sides and food for the family placed in the middle. I agreed and sent you the deposit of 180, but when my party and I got there first we weren't greeted properly and the hostess was very rude saying that I didn’t have a reservation I told her I made. She finds the reservations and then tells me it’s A la carte I said to her we spoke to you “Ken” and explained that it was the family style after saying that she said to me “Why did I speak to Ken since he’s not the manager” which is completely unprofessional.! I then spoke to the manager that was there on June 29th and he was explaining something completely different I was explaining that family style means bigger portions of plates just put in the middle, and the Gentlemen decided to tell me in the restaurant business that’s what it means, and that was completely rude. I then was seated at 9 pm the hostess never came back to tell us our table was ready I had to ask her which is ridiculous, we ordered drinks that were all wrong and he just placed them on the table and walked away and made it the right way and gave us those but yet still charged us for their mistakes which is outrageous to me. I then ordered apps which were so poorly done the Rockefeller oysters were just cream spinach and dry breadcrumbs and it’s just tasted like dry spinach , bone marrow was just oil that’s it no marrow really, and the meatballs tasted like meatloaf and very dry the steaks were good but that’s it everything else wasn't . I came here a year ago when you first opened which I raved about because the service was amazing the food was delicious and the hospitality was even better.I honestly don’t what happened but this experience was the worst I ever had, it took away from my 40th birthday and the bar didn’t even have no mixers at all no pineapple juice nothing. I didn’t even get an apology from anyone on how poor they handled everything I have been in the service business and sales for over 15 years and never dealt with such poor hospitality. If I had known all this I wouldn't have done it here at all it ruined my 40th birthday. Sent...
Read moreBeautiful steakhouse right under our noses! It's on the 12 floor of a hotel so the anticipation of actually getting inside is a build up. As you walk in there is a large waiting area with couches. I proceeded to the hostess counter, I was seated quickly as I did have a reservation for my mother and I. The bar is long and spacious very tidy/organized. The dining area was stunning as all the tables are set and ready for service with glasses and utensils on the table. The feel of this restaurant is very much like city vibes, which I loved about it. My mother and I were seated initially at a table for two however, we preferred to be seated at a booth, and they immediately accommodated us without an issue.
First things first I asked for a Sparkling Saratoga water before ordering my first cocktail. My first cocktail was a Maui sunset which was sweet and tasty. My second drink of choice was a mango Mojito and this was the star. It's strained so it is not your typical mojito but flavoring, taste and the glass it is displayed in is gorgeous. All of it collectively made the drink a 10/10.
For my appetizer I ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters delicious and fresh as a true oyster lover I could have had a few orders of these. For our main course my mother ordered the crispy skin chicken which she thought was good portion size is good and could be shared. I decided to try something I haven't had in sometime and had the Royal sea bass the presentation on this dish was beautiful and the server pours a ginger sauce on top of your bass table side. Since all items here are Ala cart we had to get a few sides, we went with the French fries you have an option of with or without truffle they were delicious, crispy just how my mother likes them. Green garlic fried rice I did ask for no meat in my rice and it was also good and flavorful. Macaroni and cheese that my mother liked very much I got 3 maybe 4 bites it was good almost ordered another to go. Lastly I order the Herbed cream spinach it was delicious, creamy and rich. I am so happy that I didn't leave here without trying it trust me it’s good. Dinner went great as we were constantly being checked up on and for dessert I decided to try the Dark chocolate creameux. My mother really likes chocolate how could we go wrong? Now I do wish the portion size on this was a bit larger, the dark chocolate was rich the filling was creamy and...
