The food is great. I went on a Tuesday for the taco deal. The best taco is the shrimp taco even if you’re not a big shrimp fan. The beef birria taco is good but the meat isn’t lean and it’s hard to eat more than one because it’s so heavy. Chicken I wasn’t a big fan of. The crispy fish is pretty good and worth every cent. The corn in the cup is good but only the top layer has the good crunchy stuff and under it is just regular tasting corn. For that reason I won’t get the corn in the cup again. I had horchata drink which I wasn’t a fan of; I wish it was thicker and creamier but that’s probably a personal preference.
As for the service, I did not like the waiter. He tried to make me feel bad about ordering more tacos. And he had an attitude about it. I tipped him 15% but wish I made a point and didn’t tip. If I go to eat and I’m sitting down at the table, I want to feel welcomed. I didn’t get that feeling. Also I told the waiter I didn’t want ice in my horchata. Another waiter brings it with ice, easy mix up. The problem is when I told him, rather than remaking the drink, he tried just taking the ice out. I had to reaffirm to him that I didn’t want ice touching the drink at all.
All in all, I would go back but I will not order any drinks and will hope the waiter doesn’t fight me on ordering more food if...

Previous Review Had an unfortunate experience at this Tacombi…. Have visited several all over the city and each has been an amazing experience. But this one pretty put a real black eye in how I see tacombi’s customer service. I stopped by for a quick pickup before we left the city but then a friend of ours that wanted to experience tacombi for a first time wanted to stay to eat our to go food and order some apps and drinks. The moment we got near the stand they told my wife if you get to go you can’t sit down its one or the other…. While restaurant seemed relatively empty. Spoke with a manager to see if this is normal policy she allowed us to sit…. But with them completely ignoring our table or even asking if we needed anything. Even then we chose to leave a tip showing a different level of respect than what they showed us this evening. Im extremely disappointed and was not expecting such a dent on our amazing evening in the city. But don’t get me wrong the tacos are solid the esquitas is just an amazing childhood snack. Just beware if you choose to change your mind on where to eat it may...
Read moreI’ve visited 3 different Tacombi locations. I haven’t been impressed by the high prices for the quality of their dishes.
I went to the 24th Street Tacombi location for lunch today. The food was awful. I wrote this review because about 20-30 minutes after eating it I got a stomach ache. It was also incredibly overpriced for one cup of rice and beans and 3 tacos: carne asada, baja fish, chicken. The only decent taco tasting taco was the baja fish but it was nearly $7 for a small piece of fish. The carne asada taco had one tablespoon of dry, minced meat that had a weird taste and two small strips of green pepper. This is what probably caused my stomach ache. The chicken taco also had one tablespoon of plain dry minced chicken. The lime wedge that came with it was old or maybe used bc no juice came out of it. The cup of rice and beans had a ton of rice that tasted old and 2 tablespoons of dry black beans. Seems they came from a can and were rinsed off and thrown on top of rice. $25 for small portions of plain and tasteless “Mexican” food.
The general theme of all of Tacombi’s tacos and burritos are bland, dry meat or beans with no sauce, no salsa, no pico de gallo, no cheese, nothing! Chipotle serves better Mexican food and for a lot less money. I will not...
