Although Maurizio was a gracious host and waiter his wife wasn't at all she seemed bothered and nonchalance upon our arrival , actually rushing to order , even failed to suggest the specials , after he took her place and making the special sound amazing i decided to go for it but my partner didn't , after receiving our first course ( burrata ) I quickly realized our food was going to be just ok !! it was a burrata you can get from a grocery store , cold and had no creaminess nor anything special to highlight it but couple of peppers and not so fresh tomato , after half hour with our dirty plates in front of us the pasta arrives and was over cooked but tasted ok I'm pretty decent cook myself and don't claim to be a chef but I can make the same tasty food they prepared for us last night Upon leaving the place his wife- waitress was by the bar with her phone in her hand mindless of anything around her 🤷🏼♂️ When I go out for dinner especially now that we all spent so much time cooking at home , I want things to be extra special and delicious like last weekend when we went to IL BUCO food and service exceptional , and spend the same money I won't return nor I wouldn't recommend this place if you want amazing food or...

Taverna Di Bacco, This family-owned and operated restaurant radiates warmth, authenticity, and a kind of old-world charm that's increasingly rare to find. The ambience is beautifully curated: cozy, intimate, and filled with the quiet hum of conversation and laughter, like a long-lost Italian village tucked into the heart of the city.
What truly elevates the experience, though, is the service—especially from Keira, our waitress for the evening. She was a ray of sunshine: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without pretense, and genuinely kind in a way that made us feel like honored guests in a beloved family home. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her passion for the menu and the story behind the restaurant was contagious.
The food? Outstanding. Every dish came out perfectly timed, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, clearly crafted with love and tradition. Thank you Manuel!!!

Read moreIt has been a long time since I haven’t felt this way about a venue; I had such a lovely experience I cannot recommend them enough! I do not come to Lower East side a lot and it was by pure luck that I discovered it. I walked in on a Saturday evening waiting for my next engagement, set at the bar and was welcomed warmly by the owners, chef Maurizio and his lovely wife Andrea. I realized that most of the customers were frequenters and despite it being a busy Saturday evening, Maurizio spotted me as a new comer and welcomed me personally (and checked in throughout the evening) to make sure I was happy with the service and the food (which was amazing!). I had chicken parm served with “Cacio e Pepe” which was such a delice! And finished with lemon panna cotta and espresso. Wine was really good, too. It is not very cheap but you get what you pay for. Such a homey restaurant (with a lovely garden for summer) so I totally recommend it, for both the food and the old school neighborhood restaurant wibe that we miss a...
