I’m truly not one to write a bad review but this one feels necessary. We showed up at exactly our reservation time and were made to wait 20 minutes which is fine, however we were not greeted by anyone and were just left to stand there. As more people filed in the very tiny door way they asked us if we had been greeted yet or knew what was going on. There are tables at the front of the restaurant which I assume is supposed to be the “waiting” area however we didn’t realize this until the people sitting there got seated at the sushi counter. We all figured they were seated tables as most omakase restaurants have tables in addition to the sushi counter. When the sushi was served the pieces were under described and came with many ingredients that were not mentioned at all. I’ve been to over 30 omakase experiences of varying price points, locations, and even ones in Japan. This is the first time I’ve experienced only some of the ingredients being explained. Moreover, the wasabi was grocery store sushi quality at best. If you’ve eaten sushi enough, you know the better the wasabi the milder the taste but this wasabi was overpowering and cheep tasted to the point it overwhelmed the fish on every bite. To echo other people’s comments, the sushi rice was incredibly over cooked and gummy to the point it offered no textual difference to the fish and in fact took away from it. The one saving grace were the hand rolls because the nori was crisp. However the reason I’m writing this review is not because of my qualms with the sushi, it is my worry for sanitary reasons. The are reusing plastic party plates as initial plates for your chopsticks and napkin get put on, and the bathroom has no toilet paper or plumping to handle such a signage to prove it. Instead, they have a trash can for people to throw their paper towels in once they’ve used them to go to the bathroom which I believe is a health violation. In conclusion, the TikTok marketing got me but I truly wish i read the 1star reviews as they all match the experience I had. I can’t attach photos at this moment but I will try after...
Read moreMe and my friend went to Toka to celebrate her birthday, and I left incredibly disappointed with our choice. The quality of the fish was inconsistent—some pieces were decent, but others were filled with tendon. The rice was the biggest letdown: mushy, overly vinegary, and it completely overpowered the fish. Even when the Akami was good, the rice ruined the overall experience.
The service wasn’t much better. We were greeted by a man who seemed miserable and barely spoke beyond the bare minimum. He wasn’t outright rude, but it didn’t feel welcoming at all. The atmosphere also wasn’t enjoyable. One of the sushi chefs even kept glaring at us for ordering a fair amount of nigiri during the all-you-can-eat portion. To make matters worse, the toro was so chewy that my friend almost choked on it, and instead of concern, the chef seemed more worried about whether we would waste food.
After reading other reviews, I realize I should’ve known better-the negative comments aren’t a coincidence. This place really is that bad. And judging from how they respond to criticism, don’t expect constructive feedback from management either. Many reviews mention (and I expect the same) that the restaurant replies with snarky comments. That’s not the best way to do business, in my opinion.
For the price point, there are many better options in the city. Honestly, I was embarrassed to bring my friend here for her birthday celebration. Don’t believe the TikTok hype—this place is...

From where do I start… I feel very disappointed with this restaurant I feel like I was victim of their good marketing (which is impressive)
From the moment they “welcome” you and take you to your seats it, they give you a bad look, They didn’t offer us anything to drink I had to ask for water and “sake” which is unlimited
Now the omakase experience… it was terrible, sushi pieces so lame and basic, the chef didn’t explain what was he doing he was just serving the pieces, well doing his job, the seafood quality was bad. You know when you eat top quality seafood
At the end of the omakase they give you a paper with options of sushi that you can order as many pieces you like but you can order once, you can’t order any of the pieces the chef previously served.
I consider myself a person who loves going to omakase, because you can see the chef’s work, effort and love in a menu, that’s what literally means: “I leave it up to you”.
So if you’ve been to other Omakases, this is not a good place for you, but if you’ve want to eat a lot like a buffet and order 50 pieces of sushi then you’ll like it. My wife and I spent $213.40
Again, it’s my personal opinion, I hope...
