Villa Mia Pizza — Restaurant in New York

I really wanted to like my margherita pizza pie…I was hungry and the place was right across the street from where we were staying. The gentleman serving was super nice and the price was right for $20 Let’s start from the bottom: The pie crust was stiff and bland The tomato sauce tasted like it just came out of a can (absolutely no seasoning) They skimped on the fresh mozzarella and basil and it wasn’t actually fresh at all I asked for more basil and he gave me just a few more leaves He left it in the oven a tad too long so there was two large burned bubbles Again, I was hungry so I ate as many slices as I could with my son and I don’t like to waste food. I rarely write any reviews but I just wanted this place to get better as I love promoting small local businesses. I usually go to My Little Pizzeria on Court/Atlantic and their pie is only a couple dollars more but 10xs better. It was the location that made me come to Villa Mia and the menu looked so good I hope that this review helps, I am not trying to be malicious as the service was fast...

Ilworst pizza I’ve ever had. I waited for the guy behind the counter to finish painting his bycicle helmet to order. Then once I’ve ordered he keeps prying about where I work then when I’m clearly not interested in conversation as I couldn’t make sense of his accent he keeps talking to me after my food is ready until It’s cold. By the time I walked 2 blocks home my pizza was cold and he had talked so long he burnt my garlic knots. I didn’t even respond until I said please I need to leave and even then he kept talking. I'm allergic to red sauce so my boyfriend got us Alfredo sauce with the healthy toppings. Cheese with spinach it didn't even need chicken because it was just that GOOD. It outranks many of the places here it was drippy in a "good way" the flavor is atonishing. It tasted buttery, and full of flavor in general. I also like how it was soft enough to fold it but yet has that oven ready edges. I highly recommend this place and the bf says there really nice people 😁 thank you guys for making our day better.
