The best French wine bar in the city! We have been coming to Vin Sur Vingt for years (ever since it was in the original cozy location across the street!) and have loved it from the start. The wine selection is extensive, and the servers are all so knowledgeable - we have found quite a few new favorites because of their suggestions! Nothing beats the cozy ambiance, charcuterie and tartines, friendly service, and amazing location - we have easily spent 5+ hours here on multiple occasions because you just don't want to leave.
This review is also specifically for an event that we hosted there. My husband and I hosted the welcome night for our wedding weekend at VSV, and the entire process could not have gone better. We worked with Carlie Wright (Events Manager) and she was an absolute dream - thoughtful, understanding, creative, adaptable. It was so easy to talk to her and collaborate, and she made it a stress-free experience truly from beginning to end. The night itself went perfectly - our guests absolutely loved the space, we had tons of compliments on the wines, and the bartenders and staff were all so kind, positive, and helpful the entire night. Carlie even remembered our favorite wines from the tasting and brought glasses to my husband and I on arrival. I truly hope that we'll have an excuse to do an event...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place! Carlie and her team are the BEST! A week after our small family wedding, we held a reception at Vin Sur Vingt in the West Village, and the entire experience was exceptional. We'd never even had a meal at VSV before, so I am thrilled that filling out the "Book Your Event" inquiry form on the website turned into such a success! Carlie, the Events Manager, is outstanding. She is THE person you want to work with if you're planning an event: communicative, smart, warm, organized, and experienced. Carlie replied within hours of my inquiry, when other restaurants I'd reached out to either never got back to me or it took them days to follow up. At Vin Sur Vingt, we knew our event was important to Carlie and the rest of the team because they are proud of what they do. As for the event itself, the food and drinks were wonderful (I highly recommend the french toast bites!) and every member of the staff was kind and attentive. Our 75 guests fit nicely in the space, and the atmosphere was perfect. We didn't want anything over-the-top for our reception, just great people, great food, and a great celebration, and we got exactly that (without ANY stress!) thanks to Carlie and everyone at Vin Sur Vingt! We can't recommend...
Read moreThe place is a fraud. They remove bad reviews and only leave good ones. My experience sucked and so did their clueless management. It’s a rip off - when we came, they stalled us for almost an hour so we can order more drinks and pay them all the more money before they can prepare the food. They said their ‘policies’ prevent them from beginning to prepare the food before specific time. So they pray on people who end up sipping their overpriced wine until the waiter comes and says that now they can make the food. It’s not like they don’t have the food and it’s not like it’s a morning. I came there after my day at work towards the evening and I only ate lunch at noon so having an experience of waiting for my food on an empty stomach is harsh, greedy and inhumane. The manager has no compassion and only cares about money. I highly don’t recommend this place unless you think you deserve being mistreated.
This is the second time I post a review for this place. The first one is gone - they had google delete it and I will have it...
