This dining out was done with a gift card sent by a corporate employee of Cracker Barrel because of an undesirable experience recently at the Fairburn location. My two boys ordered the burger and fries, one with cheese and one without, and both plain with nothing else. They both came out with all of the dressings and pickles stacked on top of the buns with a skewer holding them in place. I told our waitress, Jaylin, that they weren't supposed to have all of the toppings, and my very hungry autistic 9 year old insisted that he would take them off. I also asked our waitress if the sauce that I saw on the bun was mayonnaise, to which she replied that it was and that it originally comes with it. I knew he wouldn't eat it, so I sent them both back. They came back out in just a few minutes, and both came plain like they were supposed to but still had the pickles stacked on top of the buns held in place by skewers. My older son said he could taste the lettuce and wasn't able to eat it, and my younger son followed. Both burgers took a while to come back out. Meanwhile, my boys ate their fries. My eldest said they weren't that good, but okay enough to eat because he was so hungry. I agree that they were just okay. My fried shrimp was good, as well as the fried okra. My mashed potatoes were hard and tasted horrible. I requested fresh mashed potatoes, and they were delivered. They were good. By the time my boys' burgers were delivered, my eldest was full from the fries settling, but was able to take a few bites of his burger and said it was really good and wanted to take it home. Meanwhile, I noticed a man who was dressed in a button-down shirt several times interacting with others who even stood looking in our direction. I thought to myself that he was probably the manager, and it was odd that he didn't come to greet us and make sure that our food was properly made. I heard a woman from the general direction of the kitchen loudly say that she didn't "understand how you can taste the lettuce." When I got up to the counter to pay, the man in the button-down shirt walked in and asked me if my food turned out good, to which I replied, "yes". At that point, it did not appear that further complaining would produce a satisfactory dining experience. The cashier, Savannah, was distracted, and it showed by her repetitively turning away and darting her head to look over her shoulders. I asked her if the guy in the button-down dress shirt was the manager. She told me she "didn't know of any guy in a button-down dress shirt." He had said something to her before walking back into the dining area, so I was confused about how she didn't know who I was referring to. She was still displaying distraction and preoccupation by turning and looking over her shoulders - both ways as her coworkers would pass. I stated, "The man who asked me if my food turned out good." She then replied, "Oh yeah, well, he's one of the managers." I asked his name, and she said it's Brandon. I am hoping corporate also sees this review because this experience was even worse...
Read moreWorst Experience I have ever had at Cracker Barrel. I went with my mother to Cracker Barrel for the first time since the pandemic had begun. We were overly excited because we love eating here. We made reservations online, but when we got there our names were not to be found. We laughed it off, blamed technology and made a new reservation for just two people assuming it would not take to long to seat two people. We asked the lady to estimate our wait time and she was confused herself and showed us her screen. She said a lot of tables had finished eating a long time ago, but still had not left. ME and my mother assumed they had just been talking and people would leave soon. We were WRONG. After waiting a pain stakingly long time for just two people to eat we finally were called to a table. Our waiter was nice took our order. The food took some time to come out for just two meals, but we did not mind because it was delicious when it did come out. When we placed our orders we went ahead and placed an order to go because my father was waiting for his dinner at home. We explained we wanted the waiter to wait a few minutes after placing our order to do the to go order because we did not want to wait on the food once we finished. We finished eating and we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for our to go order because they did not put it in. To top it all off I ordered desert to go because I am pregnant and I had been craving cracker Barrel's famous coca cola cake, but I did not want my father waiting any longer for his food. It took an extremely long time for me to get 1 slice of cake. The waiter kept coming to apologize and explained the manager would be slicing the cake soon. I hated to wait, but the manager was slicing my cake so I am sure I would have an amazing cake to eat at home. WRONG. Once I got home I excitedly opened my cake and was SHOCKED. There was almost no cake. There was only the chocolate icing and it was all smashed to bits. I could not believe it. My hormones took over and I am not ashamed I cried over this cake I had been craving my entire pregnancy. I am still craving my...
Read moreIt was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at Cracker Barrel. I was extremely disappointed. 4 tables after us were all served their food, we got a refill of drinks and no explanation as to the reason. 10 minutes later, and we flag down our server. We asked what the issue was. She said it was the steak tips, but it was due to the health inspector as to why it was late. Let me tell you, I've worked in food service and a grocery store with all departments serving fresh food. You don't tell that to the customer. Now, if that was not bad enough. In line at check out. I know how the lines are suppose run, but there were 3 older couple's that were lined up wrong going back up the center isle. So I got on behind them. One cashier was waiting on something smacking her gum. We all waited... and waited. Fianlly a manager came to help. Then another manager came to help checkout people, she had to explain everything about how to check out to one of the guests. Then when she was done the manager took the man in front of me, now remember I have been here 10 minutes now. So others are behind me and now others are lining up how they should. So there are two lines. Still the first cashier is doing the refund as it turned out. When the old couple was done in front of me, the manager that came to help took the new line and skipped me completely. I commented and so did the people behind me. She said, well this is how the line is supposed to go. I ended going to original cashier because she was done. I let that manager have it. I told him it wouldn't have been so bad if I had better service inside. He apologized but I told him he needed to have a discussion with the other person on their register and teach her some customer service skills. It is unbelievable on how I was treated. Thank you for emailing the survey. I would have blown off doing this. We were traveling and we always stop at that Cracker Barrel. I'm not sure I will any more and I would like to know what score they received from the Health Department. It's sad that the manager I talked to did not ask what happened in the...
