I should have ordered online instead of driving over an hour to make a special trip to attempt to spend my 2 Ulta gift cards in person. The store was completely unkept and the staff were no help whatsoever. I had my 4 month old baby with me in her car seat and was lugging her around the store, very visibly in need of assistance. No one once offered any help. I on many occasions was just standing there in the entrance holding the heavy baby car seat, her backpack, and my purse, visibly trying to look for assistance and the 3-4 staff members all saw me but none even approached me! š© Little did they know or care I actually had lots of money to spend there in that day. I had to hunt down a staff member to ask if they honored online promotions and I asked her where the bathrooms were. The bathrooms were hidden in the back and I struggled to squeeze past all the dirty salon equipment with my baby carrier still in hand mind you. I wanted to buy some perfume, and the rollerball samples were a mess. Disgusting really. Many were in the wrong locations. I also wanted to sample some of the more expensive perfumes but there were no paper sheets out to spray and smell the testers! I didn't want to be spraying perfume all around my baby anyway, so missed out there. I was so extremely disappointed at the unhelpful, no, non-existent staff and at the poor quality of the store. I had made such a long trip out with my baby on such a hot day and had originally been looking forward to treating myself at Ulta but will never make that mistake again. He was not friendly at all and had bad energy from the moment we started. At one point he was washing my hair and pulled my seat closer to the sink without any warning or anything, which I thought was weird. Iām African American and the way he was caring for my hair was definitelyā¦different. While washing my hair there was a point where the water super cold & another where the water was super hot. I stood up with water going down my neck & soap in my ears, which isnāt necessary. He burned me several times while straightening my hair and told me āitās the heatā as if I canāt tell the difference between heat and a hot plate touching my scalp. I asked for trims and curls. He started curling my hair before the trim. I simply asked him if he should trim before curling, he goes āCan I do my job ? Can I do my job?ā. I was asking because I had never had my hair done in that order before. I just canceled the trim because honestly I was uncomfortable and I didnāt trust him to do a proper trim based off the way he detangled my hair.
