I hate leaving bad reviews but when it comes to customer service and the compromise of my personal information I can't standby. I ordered form Cafe Stephanie for delivery with two separate orders, both orders where charged a 20% tip fee for the delivery which was an 11.00$ delivery fee for about one mile drive, but I thought no big deal they delivered and the order was correct. Upon looking at my paper receipt where my order was hand written was my credit card information, with full credit card number, expiration date, and my personal security code for the card were written down with the receipt taped to the outside of the bag. Anyone could see this information such as all staff, drivers, etc. So I called and asked to speak to a manager to express my concerns. I spoke with I believe his name was Mike. He was very rude and showed no regard for my concern. In offering suggestions and all I got back was attitude and excuses such as "well this is the way we have done it for 17 years and you are the first to complain about this" the fact that my credit card information was not safe. I asked why do they just not enter card information into the credit card machine when they are taking the order, the answer I got was well I only have 4 employees and they do that only when they have time. So they choose to compromise my credit card information for a minute or so of time, which guess what you still have to take the time to punch my card information into the machine at some point before delivery correct? This whole experience was uncalled for and I would know because I have my own business and if this was a concern of my clients I would not argue, I would simply say I am very sorry that this has taken place we will make some changes to the way we do things to make sure you feel comfortable as our customer. I guess they don't value their customers concerns and don't really care about the value they offer their customers. I will not be ordering form this establishment ever agin and will let as many people I know...
Read moreFirst impression: good atmosphere, attentive staff, one even asked me how I liked my chai and it was delicious so he showed me the powdered Oregon Chai they use and told me where to find it at Cash n Carry. I stopped in to pick some up and read the ingredients, it has milk in it. I had ordered myself and my mom two chai lattes with almond milk. I even asked the waiter what milk alternative they had and specified almond milk. I phoned back to the restaurant to make them aware that they are serving a milk product to people that request milk alternative and the employee was not even slightly interested in this information and seemed annoyed I even called. When I asked him if that was all he had to say, he told me to call back after 3pm and speak to a manager. They close at 3pm. Needless to say, I won't be going back and I spend a fair amount of time in Newport, since I have family living there. I also write reviews on eating establishments for the local paper. It was my day off while in there but I think I will give this review as a freebie. BEWARE: If you have a milk allergy, Cafe Stephanie does not alert customers that they serve milk products to customers who request a milk...
Read moreFor context we had breakfast at Cafe Stephanie on Saturday 2019-09-21. The restaurant is relatively small, so it can feel crowded. Decor was nothing to write about, and there is no view other than the street. Customer service was ok. They accidentally gave us a veggie burrito instead of the version with sausage. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that we did not speak clearly enough with our order. Regardless, we felt that we did not receive the normal amount of attention needed, and we typically do not need much! My girlfriend and I ordered Americano coffees, and they were decent. I had the Corned Beef Hash, and it was good. My girlfriend had the Veggie Breakfast Burrito, although she had hoped to have the one with sausage. I asked her if we should return it, but she was too hungry to complain. She ended up regretting her decision because the burrito was disappointing. We ordered a side of Red Potatoes, and they were burnt and bland and seemed to have been microwaved. Lastly, we were extremely disappointed that they did not offer hash browns. We are firm believers that all breakfast places must offer...
