4 stars was an easy choice!
Let me start with the good because it’s worth saying it first
Their raspberry scones I would drive a hundred miles just to smell one let alone eat. We have bought several just because people at home here we went and get mad we didn’t get them one. The chocolate raspberry cupcakes are heaven! My husband didn’t speak for almost 20 minutes after he ate one. He said it was the best cupcake he’s ever had. Most of their things have a gluten free option. I did have their pop tart once and wasn’t impressed but since everything else is so good I’d try it again to make sure. If you go make sure you invest in the pastries you won’t regret it. Their sandwiches are delicious too! Not a lot to talk about they are just good coffee is good when it’s made right but this is where it gets a tad negative
Their customer service is hit and miss. About 99.9% of the time their employees are slow. Not like to busy slow but I don’t want to work today slow. They forget your order and guess your coffee and it’s usually almost always made wrong. They look and act like they also t want you there and the wait even if it’s empty is forever! My opinion it’s worth the pastries because they don’t make them while you wait so you can get in and out quicker. But if you order a coffee expect a scowl and an entertaining argument between the employees behind the counter about who has to make it and it will likely be made wrong.
I feel so rude saying this because it’s a small town and finding employees that are top knotch is hard.
I have however once went in and met a wonderful woman behind the counter happy to see me and seemed able to make coffee but I’m all honesty it was probably the owner because she seemed invested.
This is what I do… go in get pastries and then go across the way. they have a coffee shop and they are absolutely...
Read moreI like this place, but I like my morning latte ritual more. After going here every day for a week, I had to go find another coffee shop.
Check your temperatures. You are scorching the lattes, making it so I have to sit there for an hour with a latte I can't drink yet, taking tiny sips that scald my lips and tongue each time. To a person with a morning latte ritual, why do you want to torture me like that?
I've been traveling the West Coast for many months, going to coffee shops all along the way and this place is serving the absolute hottest latte on the west coast. That's not a good thing. It destroys the flavor in addition to making me wait forever to drink it.
I was in the other day and was hesitant to order another one, but I decided I would say something. My comment was not well received. They said they would make my drink 120° then. But I'm not asking for a colder drink. Each type of milk has its prescribed temperature. I use hemp milk at home. That's 165 degrees and that does not burn my mouth. Oat milk is 150 ° to 160 °. If I had to guess I would say that they are making their oat milk lattes around 200 degrees.
I've been in twice this week since then and have had to sit at the table with my latte for an hour waiting for it to cool. I found another coffee shop on the same street that has a temperature gauge so they can make the drinks at the right temperature. They are cheaper and the space is great for working as it's a new place and nobody really knows about it yet.
I've actually never had to complain about my latte being too hot. This is a first but it's so extremely ridiculously hot, have to say something. And saying something directly to the people making it didn't...
Read moreI would give the service 0 stars if I could. Went here with my mom last weekend as a little getaway (we used to live here) and decided to try coffee and a snack from this coffee shop, which, from the outside looked nice. Right off the bat the woman working the register (dark brown shoulder length hair, early 20’s) was extremely rude, especially to my mom, who has social anxiety and has a hard time making decisions. This lady was pushy and very unhelpful and made my mom feel like she was an inconvenience. This made my mom shut down and order something in haste she wasn’t even sure she wanted. For context, she was trying to find out if they offered bulk bagels in the back other than the combo bagels in front, and when I was trying to speak for my mom and express what she wanted (which I often do) this lady kept asking my mom and flustering her further, and making us feel like this was an insane question to ask. It was a total mean girls vibe, she made us feel horrible and has terrible customer service. Additionally, the scones we bought were raw in the middle and dry on the outside. Coffee was good though. However, due to this negative experience, we will not...
