Nye Beach Cottages — Hotel in Newport

Housekeeper is on methamphetamines and when managment is told they threaten me with police and harassment charges.

I was never even considered to be telling the truth, even though i asked managment repeatedly for help in an ongoing yet provacation and manipulation by this employee. I was immediatly attacked and threatend by upper management with police action and 86ed from the property. I have never met a single employee, managment or otherwise, of this hotel. I am a local resident and live just blocks from the hotel. This is my home and I love my neighborhood and my city. I feel i was not given one ounce of consideration or validated in any way. even thouh i stated an ongoing problem with this very employee. It would appear they dont ALLOW less thann perfect reviews. I told the truth w/first hand knowedge. I was told they have a strict drug policy.but when reported directly to managment I was threatend with police action. Not even a simple urinalysis to consider i may be truthfull. Is the drug policy to use drugs or not to.? Confusing. I will remain silent on the name of the housekeeper but i stand by my statement, Housekeeeper is on meth and steals from hotel and management does not investigate but attacks the reporter. Ive seen items she has stolen with my own eyes. She told to me directly about another employee that she felt wasnt doing her part of the labor she said "I Should set her up". Shocked, I told her that if she isnt doing her job management will notice and take action. A "set up" is not approperate or nessassery.I do not know what became of that...

We rented four nights in Nye Beach Condos unit 306 in March 2014. The unit was clean, comfortable and the décor is in a lovely seaside theme. Being top (3rd) floor means it is quieter. The king bed in 306 is awesome and restful. One night we shut off the heat, blocked the lanai door open, then tried to stay awake to listen to the lull of the waves. Difficult to do when in such a comfortable bed and, if there were any outside noises, they certainly didn't carry inside.

Its a great beach walk in the morning and there are stairs conveniently leading directly to the beach. For fun we learned glass blowing, went to the aquarium, went antiquing, ate every meal out, visited lighthouses, spent a lot of time on the lanai (deck) enjoying the beautiful waterfront scenery. There is complimentary internet, the laundry room is conveniently only a couple doors away on the 3rd floor, we found numerous good places to eat or shop within a short walking distance.

We had a great stay in this condo and the photos of 306 don't give credit to the beach view from that unit. When we first arrived, it was a little stormy so surfers and kite boarders were out front. Mid-week was sunny and the view from inside is as beautiful as from the lanai. The sun setting across the Pacific set our condo aglow.

If you are going to stay at Nye Beach Condos, I highly recommend Condo 306. The owners have made numerous upgrades which made our stay...

While I was checking out of the condos in which we've stayed every year for the last 8 years (managed by Inn at Nye Beach), the last 4 with our service dogs, spending thousands of dollars renting units from them over the years, never had an issue until I mentioned the dirty shower, dishes, trash out back, I was nice about it, didn't ask for a discount or anything. In retaliation, the maids picked dog feces out of the dumpster and deposited in the room, threw sand everywhere among other things, called the manager and said "oh, look what they did!" The manager then called us in a very combative matter and blindsided us with this and $250 in fees later and told we couldn't stay anymore. I demanded to see the pictures that they said were taken and they refused. I guess they needed more time to fabricate some? Yeah, seriously, you just can't make this stuff up (well apparently the maids can). So, we got lucky and The Hallmark had a room for us where they treat us and our dogs like royalty in sharp contrast to being treated like dogs by the Inn at Nye Beach.
