Obligatory disclosure: I don't drink, but visited with coworkers who wanted to go. We went at the opening time (11:30am).
Food: I don't drink, so I have nothing much to contribute there, but some of the flavors did sound interesting, like their peach brew. Their brew is the month looked like it was $4 (about half the chat of the others, from what I could tell).
A lot of the food was quite expensive, imo, so I chose a half house salad ($6.50), which was reasonable compared to other places I've been and purchased a salad. The salad came with a great set & amount of toppings (onions, halved cherry tomatoes, croutons), included a mix of a few lettuce types, and the dressing was in a small glass cup on the side. The side salad could be pitched in a "lunch combo" for $10 (which a co-worker purchased.
His lunch combo (see my menu pictures for combo options) was the sweet potato fries and salad, which was a little lacking in his and my opinion. The salad appeared smaller than mine, and the fries (which smelt great) were fewer than he had expected (I would guess maybe a measuring "cup" of them).
One co-worker bought a full meal with asparagus for his side, which he said was really tasty, but I thought it was disappointing that there were only about 7 teeny spears. It has what looked like a reduced sauce and a little cheese.
Someone else had tater tots, which appeared to have been deep fried.
The sandwiches & burgers I saw all looked good, and most people seemed satisfied with their meals (see menu for their prices).
The wraps looked huge, but I don't think they had meat unless you paid extra. I didn't sit close enough to someone with a wrap to know for sure, and forgot to ask.
Service: Our waitress was good - she handled a group of about 15 people easily enough, it seemed, keeping drinks topped off & orders straight. One meal got missed by them or the cook, but it was rectified quickly.
Overall, the food took a while to make & driver, but that was likely because our group was so large. It wasn't egregious, imo, but I've or two party members were staying to voice concerns a little bit before the food began to deliver.
I thought it was a little odd to check IDs of everybody before taking any orders, but that didn't bother me much.
Atmosphere/Cleanliness: The atmosphere in the eating area was fine. Nothing too wild and certainly nothing I would say was bad.
There did seem to be a mismatch between the sportsbar kind of decor (including 5 large TVs playing a soccer game, foosball tournament, a rodeo on 2 screens, & a baseball game) and the Reggae music that played the whole time we were there, but it's quite a small detail that most wouldn't care, I bet. I just happened to notice it.
The bathrooms seemed clean, but it's hard to tell if the floor was because it looked like there was maybe laminate tile that was ripped up, leaving the glue stain on the bare concrete Bathrooms were pretty Spartan, but had everything you needed, motors and sinks were clean, etc.
TLDR: I will probably only be back if co-workers want to go. It's a little too expensive for what you get, and I don't drink, so I have no idea if the brews make the rest of it worth it....
Read moreThere was a little confusion with the staff, so I had to actually ask someone for help after a pretty long wait. They were apologetic and handled it well. Once we had a server, she was fantastic. The whole rest of the meal went well- food came quickly, she checked on us frequently, and topped our drinks. The batter on the fried pickles was a bit too crunchy for me but they were still really good. It did not stop me from eating a bunch. The pickle and the sauce served with them were good. I had fish and chips, the french fries were perfect. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. There wasn't any salt or pepper on the table, but it wasn't needed at all, so that was fine. They brought ketchup to the table, but the fry sauce served with the meal was really good. They also brought malt vinegar & the plate had a lemon wedge the fish was cooked really well. Mild flavor, flaky, soft. The batter on the fish was fantastic. The tartar sauce was unlike any I've ever had. I don't mean that in a great way- or in a bad way. It was just different. I wouldn't call it tartar sauce if I were to name it. But it went well on the fish with the vinegar and lemon. The hostess was really great. It was a clean restaurant, and the furniture was nice. The bathroom was also clean, and...
Read moreThis was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The host didn't guide us to a table, simply telling us to sit anywhere on the patio. Just as we were about to sit, an employee rudely shouted at us, saying we couldn't sit there because it was too close to the door since we had a dog with us. While this is understandable, it didn't need to be yelled. All the other tables were dirty, so we had to stand and wait for 10 minutes until one was cleaned. To top it off, the employee's short skirt blew up, exposing her blue underwear to our entire party! This was extremely unprofessional, especially for a restaurant that serves all ages.
I believe $17 for a burger is acceptable if it's high quality. However, we only ordered one burger and a side of veggies and our bill ended up being $42 after tipping due to hidden fees we were never informed about! 42 dollars without ordering drinks! Just a single burger and a side of veggies. They charged us $10 just to sit outside because there was a game on. Had I known this beforehand, I might have actually watched the game.
The service was unprofessional and the prices were high with hidden fees. It’s disappointing to say the least, especially since I was excited to try UTOG Brewery as a local who loves a...
