Not so great if you are new. You may get less than 30 seconds of water time during your hour, but you will get close up views of local teenagers dominating the time. We had a group of 8. We made an appointment in advance and no one else was scheduled. We showed up and were told that another group of 5 would be with us. Ok, 60 minutes divided +13 is about 4.6 minutes each. I can live with that, but that isn't how it works. We got there early and watched some of the group in front of us. When it was our turn, we noted that 5 teenagers from the previous group were milling around. Little did we know that they were at the front of the line for our hour. We have a brief instruction and then line up, with the teenagers on extended passes at the front, they were pretty good and take a lot of time. The other group and our group then went, we weren't good, some fall immediately, most are only up for a few seconds before they fall. Then it is watch the teenagers show off again. repeat. Each person in our group got 3 rides, one fell getting going and that counted as a ride. The teenagers all got 4 long rides. My son remarked that one of those teenagers got more water time than all 8 of our group combined. I didn't have a stopwatch timing things, but it sure seemed that he was right. I complained but they didn't change anything. That is their system. Everybody else seems to know what is going on except the new people. Maybe you will get a time when the local teenagers aren't there and there might not be another group that they put with you. It is fun for the few seconds when it...
Read moreWe came expecting it to be busy since it was over spring break, and we knew each lane would have about 12 people—that was totally fine. What we didn’t expect was only one instructor for 24 people. This caused significant delays getting everyone started, especially with little kids who needed help.
The one instructor there was fantastic (which is why I'm still giving 3 stars), but it was really disappointing given how much we paid. With only one instructor covering both sides, we didn’t get any boogie boarding or surfing tips and ended up with noticeably less ride time.
I get that things happen—staff can call out or not show up—but it felt unfair to pay full price when we didn’t get the full experience. Some sort of adjustment to compensate, like extra ride time, would’ve made a...
