Visited the restaurant after the championship parade had ended. Was looking for a spot to grab a bite and used the restroom. Had heard good stories of the Coney Island on 25th, so we decided to stop. The restaurant wasn’t the cleanest but I suppose that adds to its charm. I have never been there before, and as soon as I saw the lady on the register I knew it would be a bad experience. I overheard how she was speaking to a black customer, very rude and condescending. And when I approached to ask if there was a restroom she responded with frustration. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so I don’t understand why she had an attitude with me. I chalked it up to heat, and maybe stress from other customers. But she really treated my friends and I very poorly, almost not even wanting us to eat there. Once we get our food, which was actually really decent, a crowd of white people walk in. I wish you could’ve seen the change in her attitude. All of a sudden she wanted to be all nice and friendly, all giggly and bubbly. Then I understood what the problem was, and why she treated us so poorly. It was the color of our skin.
Immediately felt disgusted and left the restaurant.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! The cook was a nice lady, but the lady working the register and taking orders is clearly racist, and I’m disappointed that Coney Island hasn’t addressed this, and that they hired her in the first...
Read moreI have been going to this place for years, UNFORTUNATELY, it use to be one of my favorites. I stop going because I knowest they wasn't wearing gloves or washing their hands. At first I thought okay she or he forgot and they will do it IN THE MINUTE. No it didn't happen so to speed up to a couple of days ago my daughter watched the same thing happen to many customers and herself, the lady even put the chili dogs up her arm to try to move the line along quickly.YES I SAID IT:! ON HER SKIN, UP HER ARM, MIND YOU PEOPLE WILL BE EATTING GERM, INFECTED, INFECTION SKIN DOGS, NOT CHILI DOGS. Keep in mind she never washed her hands or arm or put on gloves, she stayed in that same spot! MY DAUGHTER JUST WALKED OUT IN DISBELIEF AND DISGUSTED! Today we arrived and my daughter ask her to put on gloves and she got up set and said she don't use gloves and she don't have any. TRUST ME EVERYONE WHEN I SAY SHE MEANT THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN GLOVES IN YEARS AND IT'S THE REASON I STOP GOING. YES, She is an elderly lady, but you most definitely know the rules. Serve people with your up most respect and stay in the HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES Or CLOSE DOWN. PEOPLE DESERVE A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT AND SAFE FOOD IN FRONT OF THEM AND BEHIND THEM, RULES SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WITH THE HIGHEST CARE DEALING WITH WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO PUT IN THEIR MOUTHS. CLOSE DOWN SAFE LIFE'S, I AM...
Read moreConey Island in Oklahoma City is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal. The coney islands are fantastic, made with fresh hot dogs and a flavorful chili sauce. I highly recommend the cheese coney, but they also have a variety of other toppings to choose from.
One thing to keep in mind is that Coney Island is cash only. So be sure to stop by the ATM before you go!
But the cash-only policy is worth it for the food. The coney islands are huge and filling, and the prices are very reasonable. I usually get a two-coney combo with fries and a drink for under $10.
In addition to the great food, Coney Island also has a fun and casual atmosphere. It's a great place to go with friends or family. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they make sure that you have a great time.
Overall, I highly recommend Coney Island in Oklahoma City. It's a great place to get a delicious and affordable meal. Just be sure to bring cash!
