balcony view and a sip of beer... what else do you need at end of the super tiring day at universal it was a very long tiring day at the universal studio. we reached here 8 in the morning to avoid the crowd. so was super tired at eod. both days while going to these theme parks, we crossed Margaritaville and discussed we'll come here one night. when we came here, all the tables were full but anyway we were not interested in sitting in the hall. we were looking for balcony view which was surprisingly empty. we got our table. we settled down and order our drinks. Landshark Lager and Mango Margarita. Margarita was very sweet which server replaced with new one. my beer was great. we also ordered a couple of appetizers. Wings Jamaican BBQ and nachos. we really had a good time here. it was very soothing, dim light at balcony and view of hard rock cafe- the island of adventure tower and universal globe and also city walk. we wanted to sit here for a very long time but need to wake up early morning to catch the flight. the interior is really good. airplane hanging from the ceiling. live band performance was there and it was really good. did we miss it? Naah.. we need our time as the whole day we were rushing from one ride to another. Bar counter also looked promising. overall really good. doesn't matter if you don't have theme park ticket. it's not inside the theme park, it is at universal city walk which is open for everyone and parking is free after 10 PM ( not 6 PM) but you will have to walk from parking to here and it ll take 10-15 minutes.

I will preface this review by saying I am fully aware of staff shortages. That being said, very disappointing second experience at Margaritaville. We were seated outside (without being asked if we would prefer inside) in 60 degree weather. There were heat lamps, but they did little to make the patrons comfortable. I looked around- people had hands in their pockets, kids had hoods over their heads. When I inquired about whether the heat lamps could be turned up, I was told by a sweet girl that she could ask her manager. We never heard another word. To try to take my mind off the cold, I ordered a passion fruit guava drink which was tasty when it arrived 20 minutes after I ordered it. The "perfect margarita" used not so great tequila and was overly salty. The food had good flavor (especially the ceviche), but the cooks need a little training on execution- do not cook shrimp until it is difficult to bite into, sweet plantains should not sit around after being cooked, and medium rare steak does not mean medium well. The buttermilk fried chicken was good - but be aware of the copious amounts of creamy gravy all over the plate. The atmosphere was nice - guitar player pleased the crowd with nice tunes and a stilt artist made balloon animals for the kids. We would have stayed longer and ordered dessert- if we hadn't been so cold. Bottom line - Margaritaville is supposed to be about an experience to transport you to a place of no worries. Unfortunately not the case tonight. If this is what City Walk is about - you can do better!

This restaurant was not a good experience. The hosts at the front were nice but when we got to our table, our server was not attentive. It was extremely cold inside, which forced everyone to have to keep on their jackets. The server came up with some random excuse that the heaters were removed that day…”coincidentally”. We had no cutlery or napkins (had to ask someone cleaning the table next to us for some), and the server kept rushing us to decide on what to eat. The main entrée food was NOT good. Literally only the nacho appetizer and the fries that came with the burgers were decent. The brioche buns on the burgers were hard like rocks, they brought out the wrong order for my mom and it took them over 20+ mins to bring out the correct order (which ended up being a tiny piece of salmon on a bed of salad….not sure why that would take so long). They had no whole wheat bread option, only white bread, so my grandmother had to get a chicken sandwich without the bread & the chicken breast was hard and overcooked. It was all just a mess. Everything was extremely overpriced for such low quality food and service. I feel like they know that but they don’t care since they still make so much money from tourists regardless. Definitely never going back!

As summer break comes to a conclusion, we spent our final Saturday at Universal Studios. We decided to dine at Margaritaville. The atmosphere is a bit loud and close quartered due to construction in the main dining room. I ordered the perfect margarita, described as a “margarita aficionado’s dream.” It was quite good, I would recommend a sugar rim stead of salt. My daughter ordered the kids fish and chip, which was two nice pieces of beer battered fish with plenty of chips (fries). The Mrs. ordered the salmon entree, consisting of rice/black beans, blackened salmon, topped with a pineapple guac. Her entree was served with ice cold rice and beans, we sent it back, they obviously microwaved the plate which made the entire dish rock hard. After a few long minutes, we received a hot entree with a wonderfully seasoned salmon filet. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich, which is quite delicious! If it was not for the tasty meatloaf sandwich, this review would receive three stars. Our waiter, Mark, was phenomenal! We felt bad with the food issues since it was not Mark’s fault. Nonetheless, if you’re in the mood for a tropical themed experience with an American/Cajun themed menu then Margaritaville is for you!

Its not clean!!! The pictures on the website is not the reality. This boat is an attempt to make something new out of very old. Everything is rusty and seems to be hanging on nothing. My bathroom door came off its tracks on its own with the swell. the electrical system has not been renovated and is very old. Air conditioning problem in my room. The mechanic came to repair and had to open the ceiling! that's when I noticed that the electricity was old.For those who like cleanliness...forget this boat! Old boat and lots of rust. The rooms are released only at 2:00 p.m. so people are taken with their suitcases. Almost no public toilets and very dirty. Carpet of my room in photo. The food is good. They run you everywhere to sell you surplus alcoholic beverages. Fees are imposed on extra...gas, tax, fee...far too expensive for what you get.For those who like cleanliness...forget this boat! Old boat and lots of rust. The musicians are very good and the atmosphere was good but nothing more. boat too small to absorb the swell of the waves. Winds of 30km/h and the boat does not take the waves well. You don't sleep at night. Many people are sick. I will never take Margaritaville cruise again!!!
