Out of all the tasty options in the food court, I chose this place because I love Indian food. Unfortunately, I would later regret that decision. I thought the tikka masala tasted pretty good despite the other reviews, but I was most disappointed in the serving size. I paid $20 for my tikka masala and it was about 1/4 the size you would get at a normal Indian restaurant. My tikka had 3 pieces of chicken in it. I’m sure the rent is very high at the Venetian but there was just no excuse for this portion. A 16oz tub of curry with the equivalent of 16oz rice is usually about $14 at a restaurant, so I thought i would be getting that amount but just paying more. No, you get MUCH less than that. After I finished eating I looked around at the other restaurants and saw the portions people were getting for less money. Definitely will not be choosing this place again.
Also, the naan was not true naan. It was not made on a tandoori oven and is just… something else. Not bad, but not true naan. My curry said it came with a salad which was mostly cut up onions. Maybe that’s a traditional side in India but I don’t know what im supposed to do with a side of raw onions. Lol. Oh well live and learn.
If your food was better portioned I’d eat here every day when I come to Vegas. I can look past the naan and the weird side of onions. You shouldn’t just bank on getting first time customers and ripping people off, instead you can build loyal customers who will return every time they...
Read moreI did not expect to find Indian fast food inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Was pleasantly surprised when I came upon the Curry Pot. Prices are so-so given the surroundings, though serving size and quality are incongruous. Also the taste is ok but then again I should have expected this since Indian fast food can’t be that fresh given it takes a long time to make.
We ordered tandoori chicken, mix chaat and a chana masala combo with rice and naan. Any Asian from the Indian subcontinent knows what naan is and what Curry Pot tries to pass as naan is nothing more than frozen pita bread that has been nuked in a microwave oven (see photo). Very disappointed. One of us asked for a cup of water and we were refused. The staff member pointed to the camera on the ceiling and said everything is being monitored. Since when is providing a cup of water out of the norm at a restaurant? I ended up getting a bottle of Fiji at one if the nearby gift shops.
Were I to find myself in this food court again I would not be inclined to continue my patronage of this establishment. There are other options that are of greater quality and...
Read moreI tried chicken biriyani and tandoori chicken! Taste was really good! I was suspicious to order here but amazing food. My kids really liked the tandoori chicken taste. May be it’s too early in the morning for ordering rice items since the rice that came with the tandoori chicken was not fully cooked and was in a half cooked condition that it can’t be consumed!
I ordered through Grubhub which was supposed to deliver the food by 9am since I wanted to take this to my family back home and I had flight at 11.30am. However the food was ready and no one delivered till 10am! I took Uber, got the food (took a while to search and get to the place, since it’s located at the second floor in the mall) and reached airport at 11am. I thought I will miss my flight but somehow I was able to reach the gate at 11.20am! I was running when I heard the announcement with my name for final call to board!!! Had really bad experience ordering through Grubhub from here.
Next time, I will go personally and eat here since I can’t really complain about the food, it was really good and it was just mess up with...
