Papi's — Restaurant in Paso Robles

Moving from Los Angeles to Templeton, I have struggled to find true ethnic food akin to what I could find in Southern California. Today, I walked into Papi's Tacos & Gorditas, a modest establishment located in the heart of Paso Robles and fell in love. Honestly, it's very rare that I can feel the love put into food. I'm not saying I can't find passion or haven't had great food. But, it's rare that I'll take a bite out of something and just feel the love. Papi's is one of those places where I can feel it. I had the Gorditas Papi's Super Lunch Special (which was 1 Gordita with Rice and Beans) for $5.95. Then, I added a Sope for $2.95. Such a reasonable price!!!!

At first, I was a little concerned because my order was taking so long. But, as soon as I took a bite of it, I realized why. This wasn't just assembly line Mexican food. This was homemade and wonderful and all cooked by Papi himself!

Honestly, I cannot wait to go back to Papi's...which I'm almost thinking I might do tonight or...

I had to fish it was good I probably would personally have enjoyed it better if it was a little quieter I could hear everybody's conversation and I enjoy watching people conversate and not always on their phone however it was a little too loud for my liking. Maybe so much so it wouldn't be fair for me to give an honest answer regarding my experience because it was so loud I really could not enjoy my food the way I would have liked you I enjoy food I know people work hard making it and I'm that kind of girl that puts her heart when I cook and I would love them to taste my offering . However there was a lot of people so business sure is good for them and this is my own...

I called in my order and the lady had a hard time understanding me which happens (could've been loud on her end) anyways, I paid $16 for chili verda meal which comes with 2 spoons of chili verda and maybe a cup of very salty rice. I wasn't impressed with the portion size for the amount I paid. I also asked for chips and salsa, the salsa came in a tiny size plastic container which was enough for 3 chips. I don't mind paying extra for good mexican food but this was more like for a child to eat than an adult.
