Chix & Wings — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I used to eat here regularly about a year ago with my co-workers as we work up the street. The food was always good and fresh. That’s why they are getting 2 stars. A few weeks ago I wanted a fish sandwich. They have always been my go to for that. This time the fish tasted strange and I got violently ill. Thank goodness I work in a doctors office and was able to pop some Zofran to settle my stomach and stop the nausea and vomiting. Anyway, I don’t suspect that the fish was contaminated. I suspect that it was catfish, which has made me very ill like that in the past, so I don’t eat it. I also don’t particularly like the taste. A couple weeks later, I decided to give them another shot to see if I was right or if the fish was just contaminated. This time I asked what type of fish it was. They said cod. Again, it had the same taste and made me sick again. I eat cod regularly, so I know what it tastes like and I know it doesn’t make me sick. I know they were using cod back when I was going there all the time. I know they are using catfish now and I’m disappointed that they are lying about it. I guess they weren’t counting on someone being severely allergic to it coming in there. They are lucky it didn’t cause anaphylaxis. Tell people the truth about what you are...

Just picked up an order of spicy bbq boneless wings that came with a side of fries and it was everything I wanted. For some reason getting good boneless wings has always been a struggle for me in the city and I am so happy I found this place a couple hours ago. They were flaky and and had that outer crispy layer that definitely separates itself from the boneless wings you get at applebees or any of those type of chains. Also the fries were money too and cooked perfectly. Perfect amount of crisp and potato and not thin!!!! For 10 bucks for 10 wings and a side of fries is definitely a steal. They seriously gave me like 5 extra wings cause they knew I was gonna 5 star this place.

Only complaint is they close at 10 and future drunk me will definitely want this during...

I usually don't do this type of review if it's not necessary: Walk away from this place. Being here for my first time, the cashier was quite rude; I asked for an order of wings with garlic parmesan sauce on the side. I received plain wings with only parmesan cheese on the side; I mean Parmesan cheese, how can that match with fried wings!? I asked to get garlic sauce on the side again, and she said most rudely: we don't put it on the side. I said: put it on, she put a bad-smelling oil sauce on it and threw it on the table. She needs to get better customer service if this place wants to stay open. I ended up throwing my whole wings in the trash can and...
