Nice presentation. Food was on time. I ordered the night before and apparently it was too late so they canceled the order WITHOUT calling me and AN HOUR after I had placed the order. I had previously called them as well minutes after placing the order to change something. It would have been nice to know if they weren't going to be able to fulfill the order. Presentation : beautiful. Something I'd get straight out of a restaurant. Taste: the fried duck roll is not a roll at all. It's fried duck bits and taro mushed together in a fried casing... Similar to a spring roll. Not really tasty. Dragon roll - the rice is fresh but it's not superb taste. Getting sushi from the mall would be cheaper and would taste about the same. Shrimp tempura - average but expected. Overall? Way too expensive for what you get. If you look at the pics, I spent 35ish on all of that. An extra 10 for delivery fees. Any other grub hub order is cheaper and tastes better. Complaints: no soy sauce. There's only the one mixture of soy sauce and mustard for the duck. It's strange. Rolls are way too small for the price. It's normal that you get 6 pieces in a roll. The shrimp tempura was only 5. Kinda mushy. And the rolls fall apart when you pick them up. Nothing amazing about them and therefore no reason to charge so much. The mall charges 6 bucks for a shrimp tempura roll and I only have to wait 10 mins. I will not be ordering from them again.

💎 Hidden Gem Alert on Jewelers Row! 💎 On July 4th, while the fireworks were popping off overhead, my taste buds were having their own celebration at Koto Sushi. Nestled among the sparkle of Philly’s Jewelers Row, this place is a culinary gem in its own right. Let’s talk macro mackerel sushi sashimi - a notoriously tough act to pull off. But Koto? They didn’t just pull it off, they performed a high-wire act with a wasabi kick. Fresh, bold, and beautifully plated, it was the kind of sushi that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate the melt-in-your-mouth experience. It might not be Japanese-run, but don’t let that fool you, the flavors are dangerously close to Tokyo-level. Friendly service, chill vibes, and a menu that punches way above its weight. ✨ Verdict: If you’re in the neighborhood and craving sushi that slaps, skip the diamonds and go straight for the toro. Put a ring on it? Nah, put some uni on it😉.

Koto Sushi is my go-to when I need to treat myself over lunch. They have an extensive menu without being overwhelming and offer a variety of lunch deals, both with their sushi and cooked options. The fish is always tasty, the miso soup is flavorful with plenty of seaweed, and my experience with their sushi, sashimi, and maki has always been great. They have an easy online ordering system, and their sushi lunches are ready for pickup (typically) in 15 minutes. They are still not offering dine-in options, but grabbing Koto and walking to one of the nearby parks makes it a non-issue. The people working there always greet me when walking in and are very friendly. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a solid sushi meal at reasonable prices when in the Jewelers' Row neighborhood.

This review is not based on Koto’s food but on their understanding or lacktereof of how Groupon works. I went in yesterday with an expired Groupon knowing full well that I wasn’t going to get the promotional value. When I tried to apply the original value (not the promotional value) to my order, the owner refused to honor it because it was expired. It was difficult to communicate with him even with Groupon on-hand that clearly states that the original value is still useable. After about 30 min of back and forth I left without my order. I hope the owner takes the time to talk with Groupon and educate themselves about how it works so that in the future this doesn’t happen again.

Taken from right from Groupon’s website.

Using your expired Groupon is a lot like using a regular Groupon. Find your expired voucher on your My Groupons page, under Credit Vouchers (on the website) or Expired (on the mobile app). Don’t have the mobile app? Download it here. The amount you paid for the voucher can still be used at the business toward the purchase of the goods or services originally advertised in the deal. Just show the voucher to the merchant. For example, if you paid $10 for $20 worth of food at a local restaurant, after expiration, your Groupon is still valid for $10 worth of food at that restaurant. Learn more about promotional value vs. paid value here.

At this point it’s not worth my effort but the owners interpretation or understanding of expired Groupon is flat out wrong. I just hope they talk to Groupon so the same situation doesn’t...

They do pick up orders through a small glass windows but if you want to dine there they let you right in… and honestly it’s nice view of the jewelry stores it has a nice atmosphere great for people watching. The food is good their harumaki which is their spring roll is great and I love their kani salad ( nice size)Their lobster miso bisque is very tasty only thing I wish they had a bigger bowl of that.. the prices for lunch are perfect… their sushi is priced very well!!!their dinners little pricy but they are an upscale sushi restaurant. This is a nice spot because the waitstaff is so kind and fast. Only thing the restaurant is hot but when I said can you put on air conditioning they did it immediately and I was cool as a cucumber. If you want a nice atmosphere that can help you destress come here!! I’m waiting for their general tso now I have a feeling it’s good. It just came it’s delicious .
