Our server was incredibly rude from the second we walked in until we left. She didn’t smile at my gf and I or greet us once, had an overall rude demeanor and acted like she didn’t want to be there. We both ordered burgers and I asked for both of them to be on gluten free buns. After a few bites I could tell they came out on normal buns. While she sat on her phone and ignored us I had to call out to her from across the bar to ask her if the buns were gluten free. She said they weren’t right and she’d go have the cook remake them. 5 minutes later a new burger came back out remade on the correct bun but this time extremely rubbery and overcooked. It was very clearly microwaved to cut corners and speed up the process. Not once did our server apologize. She didn’t offer to make it up to us. She didnt even seem sorry. In fact when she walked back over she rudely said, “it’s not like you’re going to die right?”. She then walked behind the bar and openly talked with the other server about a different customer who was being rude to her. She didn’t comp any part of the meal for her mistakes. As a result I wouldn’t tip her even 1 cent. I’ve never received such horrendous service in my life. Her name on the receipt was Am Bar. Slightly Asian looking white girl with dark hair. I only post this description so someone in management sees. Beyond disappointing service. I’ve never wished someone got fired so much. Was only my second time here, first time was some of the most incredible food I’ve ever had in Phoenix and great service from the some gentleman at the bar. This time was so bad I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreI really wanted to love this restaurant. I love bourbon and the menu looked great! We came in for a reservation Friday at 5:30. It wasn’t very busy, although did pick up over the next hour or so. There was some leftover food on the booth seat next to me so I asked our waitress for napkin to clean it up when we ordered drinks and appetizers. It took a long while for drinks to arrive, but they were both quite good. No complaints there. I don’t mind waiting as long as a restaurant delivers quality. I did ask the waitress a second time for a napkin to clean the booth seat. We got brisket Mac and cheese for our appetizer. I used the napkin under the dish to clean up my seat. The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy - very good. The brisket was dry and tough. We ordered a second drink before finishing our first, knowing it may take a while. Entrees arrived - I had the PBR burger, which was all just too big. Thick bacon, thick burger, thick onion rings - and it was just ok. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich, which came out room temperature. He always finishes his food even if he doesn’t like it - he barely ate half of this sandwich. For the price, we expected better quality food. Our second drinks didn’t arrive until we finished our meal, but were also very good. We’ll consider coming back for drinks (if it’s not busy) but probably won’t...
Read moreAwesome food, relaxing atmosphere, spacious enough for groups. The bourbon list was long and not all of the bourbons were listed. The owner was very bourbon knowledgeable and provided great customer service. Sloppy cornbread was a hit! Thick cut bacon almost made a vegetarian fall off the wagon just by looking at it. Smoked cauliflower was a hit and the whipped feta cheese that came with it was icing on the cake (figuratively). Brussels sprouts were good and charred and the Kentucky fried chicken tenders are not your momma's chicken tenders. If you like real fried chicken and chicken tenders, give these a try. The fish in the fish and chips were meaty and the fries were good and crunchy and it also came with cole slaw. The red cabbage came with goat cheese but I did not order the goat cheese, but the cabbage was cooked with cinnamon or nutmeg but those ingredients weren't listed on the menu (otherwise, I would not had ordered). The just just said red cabbage and goat cheese. I don't like my cabbage cooked with those two seasonings. Four stars only because of the cabbage and our waitress was slow on refilling water and she was unable to answer several menu questions. Such as, what is offered for happy hour and what are some local bourbons. So, happy hour is $2 off appetizers, drafts and well wines. I really like...
