Funnel Cake Factory — Restaurant in Pigeon Forge

Tried calling to see if they were open but their phone was disconnected so we didn't think they were still in business, but they were. Everything about the funnel cake was wonderful! The strawberry sauce was not too sweet, and the ice cream was creamy and delicious. The woman that made it was kind and it was just a great experience until we met the owner. We were traveling a long distance, so we decided to eat in our car. Once we were done, I walked to the garbage can that is in the front of the store and went to throw the box the funnel cake came in away. I was met with a crotchety old man blowing cigarette smoke in my face wearing a funnel cake factory t shirt. He yelled, do not throw that away in my garbage can. I asked why not? He said because he has to empty all the cans every night, but he doesn't have to for the complex garbage cans and instructed me to walk down to the other cans. I said this is from your business so I should be able to use the garbage can in front of your store. He said if you were eating it to go why did you ask for a box- those boxes cost me money! I said I didn't ask for a box, she just gave it to me that way. He said you should have asked for a plate! I said I have never been here before and I don't know how they come. He continued to blow cigarette smoke my way. I told him he needed to learn how to treat people and asked him what made him so mean and threw my box, that I didn't ask for, in the trash can anyway. I'm not going to lie- this was the best funnel cake I had in my life, but the customer service ruined it, and I will...

Wish I could give this place zero (0) stars. I cannot give the food a rating since we was not allowed to have any. The service and atmosphere goes hand in hand. This was a horrible experience. My family all wanted to try some funnel cakes and see what this place had to offer while pn our vacation. We arrived 15mins prior to closing and the lady had already locked the door and was about to leave. She had all stools up and was staring at us looking inside after we tried to open the door. She even smiled at us knowing that she had closed early. This is not how you treat customers, especially those that are tourist. It baffles me how you can be so cold hearted to just smile at kids and an entire family and know you did wrong and not correct your behavior. This person should be reprimanded and or fired. Let me first say if I could give more then 5 stars I would!!! Customer service was great and the food was perfect. I had found out about this place from a Facebook group. An let me just say I’m so glad I did. We were treated as soon as we walked in and helped with getting just what we wanted! When I requested the item that’s all over fb groups the lady said oh the joy of social media and made me up the perfect dessert! The food was fresh and really good. I was afraid of it being to rich and not being able to eat but a few bites. But that was not the case at all. The cake was airy and moist, the ice cream melted just perfect between the cake slices and the chocolate sauce was not rich and the perfect fit.
