After a nice day in Gatlinburg, we decided to go get some ice cream from one of our favorite spots. We got there, and there was a line outside. It was me, my husband, and son behind a couple and their Children, who had been waiting for the other set of people inside to come out per the rules of how many people can be in the store at once. Per the paper on the door they closed at 7PM, but we had been in line prior to closing. While the other set of people were inside, the turned off the lights and locked the door. My husband was upset, so he knocked on the door and asked what was going on. They said they closed at 7PM. I became upset, and told them we had been waiting in line as well as the other people. The lady was short and very rude and said “well, we close at 7, sorry”. I said “had we been in the store, would you have asked us to get out?“ and she just kept saying how she they closed. My husband asked to speak to the manager, who was also very rude, and told us we weren’t in line. We very clearly were, as well as the people in front of us. There is a big window in the front in which they could see us.
Although they have great ice cream, I won’t ever return due to how rude the staff is. It’s disappointing to have something so good, but someone ruin it with their attitude. I know the manager isn’t the owner, and wish this message could get to them because their staff today was absolutely awful. I will spread the word, and never...
Read moreWent in for a scoop of ice cream for my daughter. Asked for a sample and girl behind counter was so unfriendly. She never spoke until I paid for the ice cream, when she told me the total. My daughter and husband thought the ice cream was delicious. The big problem came in when I went back in to buy bottles of water. A different girl was working the counter. When I went to pay, I saw the rude girl sitting in the back, eating a bag of funyuns, licking her fingers, and looking at her phone. The girl who waited on us asked the rude girl to help other customers. The rude girl proceeded to come out from the back and start waiting on people, giving out samples and scooping ice cream, without ever washing her hands. She was just LICKING HER OWN FINGERS! She was using the scoop, handing people ice cream samples, and touching cones and other food and giving it to patrons. I went outside, told my husband, and we threw away the rest of the ice cream. We were both so incredibly disgusted. That rude girl needs to be re-educated on basic hygiene and how germs are spread. Or she should just be outright fired because of the combination of her disgusting and disease-spread practices and her terrible customer...
Read moreWe came into the Creamery to grab a snack to hold us over until we could get into eat at a restaurant that had an hour wait. I've worked in food service for over 13 years, I usually have more patience and understanding than most because I have firsthand experience being on the other side. The staff seemed annoyed that we had questions, my husband tried to ask a simple question about a drink that wasn't labeled that our 5 year old was asking about. The staff member looked at him as he asked and then turned and walked the other way. After the 5th time of my son asking us out loud the person I would presume was the manager wrote on the machine what it was. She did not directly address us, she just grabbed a marker and wrote on the machine what it was. When we were ready to order we were rushed, our questions were met with short answers and in an annoyed tone, our oldest son was judged by what he ordered. We come to the area from out of state for a family vacation every few years and this experience has completely turned us off from coming in on any future visits...
