We were waiting to be seated at the Old Mill Restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. Since it was chilly outside, we decided to warm up with a coffee while we waited. It was a nice option to have on a holiday when many places are closed.
The prices were a bit steep—$8 for a latte definitely stood out. I’m not sure if that was special holiday pricing or their regular price, but it felt a bit high for what we received. Along with the latte, we also ordered a Cinnabon, which was a nice treat and paired well with the coffee.
As someone who drinks lattes almost every day—whether homemade or from coffee shops—I feel I can confidently say this one was pretty good! The espresso flavor was smooth and well-balanced, and it wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated. However, my one critique is the amount of foam. A 16oz cup had at least a third of its volume taken up by foamed milk, which felt excessive and left me wishing for more actual coffee.
The Cinnabon was soft, warm, and had just the right amount of cinnamon and icing. It was the perfect complement to the latte and made the waiting experience much more enjoyable. It’s nice to know they had this option available, especially on a busy holiday.
Overall, I’m glad they were open on Thanksgiving, providing a cozy option for those waiting for a table. The coffee and Cinnabon were a welcome treat in the cold, even if the prices were a bit high. I’d definitely stop by again if we’re ever in the area, but I’d love to see a bit more coffee and a little less foam in the...
Read moreWe desperately want this fine little coffee shop to make it, but there are a few things we would suggest. One is visiting an upscale coffee shop in Nashville or Memphis and take some tips on coffee preparation in the various modes. Though an Italian cappuccino is quite small, most regional shops including Starbucks offer different sizes. The staff was a bit flustered at the suggestion of a medium. The interior décor is really great. Well furnished. Nice leather big seats and love seats plus side room and attractive steel chairs and tables. Fantastic croissant with strawberries, bananas and chocolate drizzle. But the biggest issue is that there outdoor sign on the building is almost no visible from the highway. If I was trying to make a go of the business which to succeed must draw in customers from outside the area, I would put a lot of money in signage with few elements. It just doesn’t work at all. We will come back but I am hopeful for the cafe’s future that a new sign in the building plus one out on the highway will get...
Read moreEspresso Yourself is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner with a warm welcome and great conversation—something you don’t always get these days. It’s refreshing to see a hands-on small business owner who truly cares about the customer experience. I ordered the Apple Butter Latte and my family tried the Toasted Marshmallow Latte—both were perfectly balanced, rich, and delicious. Max took our order and made sure everything was just right. His attention to detail and friendly service deserve a solid +1 on top of a 5-star coffee rating.
The shop’s giant skeleton out front adds a fun and quirky vibe—perfect for photos and definitely Instagram-worthy! Inside, there’s a cozy and colorful atmosphere, along with a Bible verse and prayer note area that adds a personal, thoughtful touch. They even offer a loyalty program that rewards you quickly, which means we’ll be back again and again. Supporting this local spot is a no-brainer. If you’re in town, make this your coffee stop—you...
