Riverside Towers — Hotel in Pigeon Forge

We found this hotel 8 or 9 years ago and absolutely loved it. The two room suites were nice, and it was clean and affordable. We hadn’t been to Pigeon Forge in a couple years but last week we came to attend my sisters wedding. After checking in we noticed the place was a little run down compared to the last time we’d stayed there. The room had a noticeable odor, the carpets were filthy (our new white socks were black after walking on the carpet) and the balcony railings were covered with spiders. My parents had the room next to us, and it was just as bad, except they had flakes of paint falling from their ceiling. We also had no WiFi for our entire three day stay. When we asked the front desk about it, they had us bring our device down so he could fix it. He simply forgot the network and rejoined, (which we’d already tried in the room) but we still couldn’t hold a connection so we ended up just using our data. The morning of the wedding we noticed we needed to go back over our clothes with an iron, but there wasn’t one in the room, so my wife requested one from the front desk. What she brought back was utterly disgusting. The ironing board pad was covered with rusty looking water stains, and the irons sole plate was coated with burnt, rusty residue. Luckily, we’d pressed our clothes before we left, we were in a hurry, so we just went with it. When checking out I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk about all these issues, He stared back at me with a blank look on his face. Stayed here in April of 2024. Seemed to be during the slow season. Positives of my experience staying at this hotel, were the location, the balcony view of the river, and the subsidized pancake breakfast. Apparently the hotel has an agreement with a pancake House across the street that has really good food. We took advantage of the subsidized buffet daily. Negatives of my experience was the cleanliness of the room. It was not clean. When I took my socks off. They were black on the bottom. It's very clear that they don't mop the rooms. In addition to that, there was cobwebs and debris in the corners of the rooms and up above where the curtain was. The front desk clerk wasn't blatantly rude, but she didn't go out of her way to be super helpful. In addition to that, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, I would caution against staying here. The workers have a smoker section right in front of the elevators in the garage. They take extra long smoke breaks and so in order to get to the elevator you have to stand in that cloud of smoke until the elevator comes down. In addition to that, it wafts up through the elevator into the lobby and into the rooms. The worst part of the experience was the bed though. Honestly, I think sleeping on the floor would have been softer. In fact, it was so bad that we decided to leave a day early. We checked out the day before our checkout date. The location is great the view was pretty and older ladies at the front desk were awesome theres a coffee pot 4 coffee cups toaster microwave and a mini fridge no complaints about our room except for a roll of tissue had something" nasty looking on it in the bathroom.. the the beds are extremely firm and pillows as well definitely no give to them, the pool was nasty though only a couple of jets was working and the water smelled like sweat and alot of chlorine the water was greenish in color and you could see the particles of something floating in it around the heat lights its not what i expected at all the outside patio has two chairs and a lil table all needed cleaned both chairs had spider nest and spiders on them couldn't sit outside and enjoy the weather and view but least there was ashtrays for smokers outside thts a plus..you have to let them know if you need a maid to clean no fresh towels or anything was given nvr even seen a maid there two tiny trash cans in the room i loved the separation door between the room's over all it needs a good cleaning outside and checked before guests rent a room no wifi the tv service constantly kept freezing up the price was higher than expected for what we had to experience and deal with we wont be...
