Today was a celebration for my very own senior pinning. I was very excited to come to Ihop as their French toast is one of my personal favorites. To begin with, my interaction with the server Mary was primarily the reason I will NEVER return to this location. Mary had an issue, apparently, with my mother and instead of maintaining a level of professionalism, she decided to antagonize our entire table. As she took my order she rushed and prompted me as I tried to explain. She clearly didn't want to be bother with my order or that of any other person at my table. My sister was rushed to place an order, despite only being 11, and simply trying to think. As she ran from our table using the excuse of bringing us our drinks, she noticeably rolled her eyes. When she did bring us our drinks, my sister and I had flat sprites. I understand that isn't her fault and thus I simply asked her to replace it. I wouldn't receive a placement for another 30 minutes and from the manager. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive, understandable as they were very busy. However, my sister and I both received cold sides and burnt French toast. Yes, you read that correctly. BOTH, my sister and I, received COLD and BURNT food..... How did they even make that happen? Trying to maintain my composure after calling Mary several times and being ignored, I finally got a hold of her. Before I could finish telling her the issue, she had slammed my food onto the next table without an apology and muttered something about the manager. The manager returned promptly and promised better food. The food we received the second time was in fact warm and tasted fine. And we finally got our sodas at this time. (For almost $3, my sister and I had only one glass of soda). Due to the individual parties at our table we had to split the bill a particular way. As my mother struggled to find Mary and remind her of the billing arrangements, Mary could be seen rushing past our table, talking about us to other servers and frankly ignoring us. Of course, as a result, she was completely wrong on the bill and had the nerve to say that we hadn't told her. How do you tell someone something who is running away from you?? Overall, the experience was not satisfying. I will never return to this location every again! Unfortunately, the manager Lee, attempted feebly, in the beginning, to help us. In the end, Lee's only solution was to tell my mother "never to come back". Don't worry, we won't. As I write this review, the manager approaches us, slams a paper down and says that is my full name so that you can spell it correctly. Beware of Lee Simpson and Mary... Good Customer service is officially dead. EDIT: I found out afterwards that my mother tipped Mary $2, to be the...
Read moreIf I could give a negative review of stars i would. This place stinks really bad. Service was horrible, no manager on site. They over charged. Food was cold after we advised it normally comes cold and to make sure it is hot. Placing hot things including coffee pots in front of a small child. Not finishing with the current customer before greeting others as if old friends. Hot plates having to be held as no one would take menus or old plates off the table. Not enough silverware or clean silverware, giving kids drinks but no straws. Asking for food to be cooked right but it coming back undercooked. The list goes on and on. The manager not being on site to refund the extra charges that was supposed to be free and having to return to get refund is horrible. Pay attention, if there is trash on the table and menus and plates please remove them so the food th say was brought out after everyone's food can be eaten, my food was cold by the time u could eat it, as there were coffee bowls and menus on the table. We had to stack plates and condense because of the menus on the table. Who makes a shake with just milk and the cookies, should have a dollop of I've cream in it to add the texture of the shake you are trying to sell. My arm is still red from holding the plate as the family didn't realize the plate was hot. The soup looked like it had sat there all day long, the red potatoes and hash were a little dry the list goes on and on. The server chatted with someone for 10 minutes so I knew better then to drink my drink. She interuptted taking our order to talk to other people. Anytime we asked for something she would run off before we were completed, happened three times. We never got the correct food we ordered. NEVER GO HERE EVER. IF IT'S BAD AT THE FIRST FEW MINUTES BEFORE YOU EVEN SIT DOWN RUN THE F AWAY, SAVE YOUR MONEY, GOLDEN CORRAL at least you can serve yourself so much better and they treat you better. Oh don't be so rude when you have to tell someone something, there is a reason I was quiet as I would have been rude back. Sorry for the scattered thoughts but this special family night...
Read moreI've dined here a few times in recent years and while some times have been better than others, none have been good.
During my most recent visit I had 2 poor meal experiences back to back. I ordered one thing that wasn't right, and I changed my order to another thing, and that wasn't right. I was sure to tip my server and I requested the manager to speak with him as I wanted to ask him to comp the meal so that my server wouldn't have any issues. She was pleasant but the kitchen was screwing up badly and they were also deceitful with what they chose to send out. The manager gave me a hard time and argued with me, insulting my intelligence trying to argue that the claims I made were untrue because he was in the kitchen. I offered him ways to refute his own claims but he denied the opportunities to prove himself wrong. Eventually he acquiesced... going from a 10% to 20% to 50% to fully discounted check. I've never had such a negative experience with the food I received from any IHOP kitchen nor have I ever had a manager argue with me in such fashion. I don't think I will ever return and I suspect he would like that. I was neither rude nor disrespectful, but I stood my ground and had a strong case.
I enjoy IHOP, they mak my favorite pancakes... and I also love their appetizer sampler... and I don't know what magic they put into their sirloin tips, but they're typically tender, moist, and flavorful!
I used to live walking distance from an IHOP and it was where I'd often meet local friends for breakfast, dinner or late night snacks. I went so often I had favorite servers and cooks in the kitchen. Sadly, this location has never measured up. I dont expect servers I never met to know my order or cooks in the kitchen to know my preferences, but I do expect everything to be at a minimum standard of excellence and this location has fallen short on multiple occasions.
I hope a new IHOP opens up soon, perhaps in Tradition, and then I'll be able to enjoy my IHOP...
