1st problem: Faux news as soon as you walk in. 2nd: Loud lady screaming across the entry part getting in everyone’s way like she owned the place. Just a loud customer. 3rd: The price range stated on this Google page is terribly incorrect as everything in this place is overpriced for the value. This is Port Saint Lucie, not New York. 4th: Food- I usually enjoy a beautiful knish, but I passed because they not only looked un-appetizing, but for a very small portion, one cost $9.99 ea. I decided on the Italian sub- unpressed. The middle menu was off and not displaying, so I couldn’t read the description of its contents. I could’ve went back outside to look on the small printed menu hanging on the window or use the QR code on the front door and look it up on my phone, neither which I did because how can a New York deli mess up an Italian Sub? I didn’t wait very long for my sandwich, grabbed a can of pop and thankfully I had cash, otherwise my two items that cost over $19.00 would’ve cost even more with a card and the fees they pass along. Got in the car to eat because there are three stools to eat at the window and the loud lady occupied all three seats somehow. Anyways, the sandwich was not to my expectations. Not a good crusty sub bread, by the time I took a bite, it was already soggy and was a sweet tasting bread, which I don’t like. Had roasted bell peppers, a ton of arugula, soggy tomatoes and balsamic drizzle on top. The meats and cheese tasted fine, but the cheese was literally fatter than the three cuts of meat on the sandwich. Everything tasted like it was sweet, which I was not expecting, nor did I like. I asked for it how it comes, I figured maybe some onions and pickles, but no. Then while waiting for my food I noticed all the different bags of chips they had and I thought, why would someone buy such a small bag of chips, but I thought that maybe I should’ve added on a bag, but well after I had already paid. I didn’t order one, because who really needs chips? No me. I wasn’t given an option of all the chips, and when I got my bag of food, they put the least wanted type in the bag. I thought that was dumb for not trying to upsell or asking me what kind I would’ve liked, since they have over five different kinds to pick from. I ate the cheese and meat on the sub. Gave the other half to my husband at lunchtime and he said the best part of it was the cheese and he doesn’t want that from there again. I agree. The deli food in the case only had one item I might have bought. That’s the anti pasta salad. I opted out of this as well because it looked like a giant should be ordering that because the cuts of meat and cheese were very large and I don’t feel the need for additional slicing and cutting in my car. Too big of a bite for one piece of meat or cheese. I definitely wouldn’t be able to enjoy them together, rather single bites, individually. I don’t feel the need to return and I don’t think they will make it. They didn’t even give me a receipt. Wish I could take a video to post how soggy the bread was. 6: My photos are half of the sub and everything I threw away on it. And the small bag of chips with my hand and an avocado for comparison. Don’t waste your money here, you can get better at Publix. And they need to leave the political news stations out of their business, because many others locally have failed due to this situation. I don’t want politics shared with any of my meals. I’m not going back until it’s something new again. I disagree with the other reviewers that say it’s the best and I don’t think this is quality food by no means. They should be ashamed to call it NY Deli. It’s definitely a PSL Deli and almost short of that. They need...
Read moreOk so we came here because the wife was hungry and her friend was like you need to try this place.
So we drove up and you can see an American flag waving out front which I like and the red umbrella.
The outside looked nice, like normal Florida cement block places. But when you walked in, the place up front was small and kinda barren but the kitchen was huge.
Met PJ up front who I’m guessing is the owner as he named a sandwich after himself. No one said hi when we walked in so I’m guessing it was a real new York place lol.
Anyway, we ordered the PJ sub, which is chicken, red pepper, prosciutto, mozzarella and vodka sauce. My wife got the Philly cheese steak. The Philly steak was daring considering we just had the best ever in Philly at Angello’s not too long ago.
The subs came with a little bag of chips. And my wife bought a Dr brown soda. We got our meals which were in styrofoam boxes. Wish they used other things for the planet but it is what it is.
I unwrapped my sub and it looked good. I bit into it and tasted good. The only complaint I have is the sauce made the bread super soggy and the sandwich started to go through it immediately. But it was very tasty.
My wife Philly cheese steak was excellent. That was creamy, flavorful as she likes to say, not chewy, bread was toasted good. It was excellent.
Overall I’d give it a 4.75 for my bread but it was...
