Reno has plenty of “made well” pizza joints, a couple too many “made okay”, and not a single “made excellent” pizza. (Southcreek Pizza’s probably been the closest). After settling in for the test of a good pizza, a good ol plain margherita pizza, I feel comfortable in saying that this is easily the best pizza in Reno. This is easily the best pizza in Nevada. This is easily one of the best pizzas in the United States.
The dough is sourdough. The crust is chewy with the right amount of char. And the toppings are very well balanced. (If they’re making a balsamic reduction, have them sprinkle some of that on your pizza. It’s ridiculously good.)
All of their pizzas are fantastic - from tried and true to seasonal produce focused. Their pizzas are pricey, but considering what they put into their pizzas, and what their pizzas go into (former pizza oven from SF’s Una Pizza Napolitana), and how they actually taste, TPC pizzas are worth...
Read moreLoved this place. This was our first time so we ordered a variety. Salad: house dressing vinaigrette was the best I've tasted and the overall ingredients were delicious and fresh. Mac and cheese: Mac was perfect texture. Their mix of cheeses were very good. Pizza: ordered pepperoni but added sausage. It was a win. The crust to ingredients ratio was right on. But it's the quality ingredients that make the difference. Atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable. Workers were kind and very friendly. Like being with family. Service was FAST. Huge bonus. We parked nearby in a pay lot ($6 for 2 hours). Felt safe. It's located in a circle of a few other restaurants where the seating is all joined. I will be going back to try the other places as well. Great place to go with friends. Everyone can order where they want then pull some tables together to break bread. It was a great date night with my favorite husband. We will be back and...
Read moreNot very good pizza. First, it was hard to find with inadequate signage. Not really hard to find, but slightly annoying. Why not put up a sign? We had to ask people to find the place. Second, the prices were high for everything. $10 for a basic salad? $19 for a 12" pizza? Really?
Also they are trying to hard to be different. Why not just focus on making good pizza that isn't burned? Yeah, it was burned. Not a lot but who likes to eat burned anything?
I wish it had been better and cheaper. I won't...
