We were so excited to find a Ramen shop. We are visiting our kids who live in Rexburg. We all ordered with some specific details, we have some who are non meat eaters, took off onions, added fish cakes, and a few other minor details. The food came and the order was mixed up except one bowl (this one was the one that was ordered off the menu as posted) the rest was so confusing. On the receipt it was exactly as we ordered it, but when it all came out it was completely different than what was on the receipt. We finally settled, after discussing the confusing order, except the one who ordered no meat had a slab of pork on top. Which was replaced and still came out wrong. The corn, seaweed, and fish cakes didn’t show up. But there were onions, sprouts, and bamboo that was not wanted. She spent the majority of her lunch time digging it out. Then was just left with broth, noodles and a giant scoop of spices. The servers behind the counter were really nice. We asked for corn and seaweed and they brought it to her to add to her soup. Not sure if this is normal but the corn was frozen! Frozen corn going into an already luke-warm broth made it undesirable. Apparently this is a new establishment. So hopefully they will grow as they go. The other bowls weren’t bad. For my taste, they could use a bit more flavor! I got the Miso and it was bland. We love Raman shops, I hope they can master their craft and make this a place people...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered the Shoyu and Shio ramen bowls. When they came out, they smelled strongly of plastic or some kind of chemical. We tasted it and it was an overwhelming taste of some kind that made it impossible to eat. I've eaten a lot of ramen at different restaurants, so I know the general flavors that should be there. This was DEFINITELY not a normal flavor for ramen. The noodles were also extremely mushy and tasted like playdough. I've never had a meal before that has made me dry heave, and I am not a picky eater. I took it to one of the workers and after tasting the broth, he said it was completely normal and we would need to buy a new bowl if we wanted to replace it. This part is where it made me upset. If I can't even eat it because it tastes so bad, I feel like they should have provided us with new ramen and not just free fountain drinks as a way to say sorry. Their ramen isn't cheap, but we ended up ordering another ramen to save the outing and it tasted great. It was definitely just the other two ramen bowls that were off. The staff was nice, but I really wish they treated us better in...
Read moreWent on Tuesday really excited to have a ramen place in rexburg. My first impression was it is a little expensive, but only a dollar or two more than a ramen place my husband and I like in IF. I got the garlic ramen and it was about the grossest broth I have ever tasted. Really lacking garlic flavor which is funny given that I would think a garlic broth would be the strongest broth they have. It also tasted weird- not really sure how to explain it, but I've gone to a handful of ramen places and this was not good. I dumped a bunch of hoisen sauce and soy sauce in it, which made it bearable- I needed to eat something to make $15 worth it. Also not much meat in the dish, but that is not out of the ordinary for ramen I guess. My cousin got the soy ramen which was also a little weird and nothing to bring me back and try again. Maybe there was just a bad batch or they forgot to dump some salt in it, but I did not bother with leftovers. I really want them to be successful because, like I said, Rexburg should have a ramen place- especially walking distance for students. I hope food...
