Marilyn's Pizza is a nice spot to get a slice of people especially on a night out. It's off 20th and J down the street from the bars/clubs so it's convenient when you want some late food when you're already out. They haven't been open a super long time but they've made adjustments on how to make things run smoother. For example, they recently added a designation line and a sign stating "one customer in, one customer out". I think this is a good idea because they get really really busy! They have a decent sized menu with standard pricing for pizza in midtown. If you just want a slice you can come at any time but ordering whole pies should be done ahead of time if you can to avoid long waits (up to an hour). The pizza is good but I prefer other spots. The crust is great but the cheese isn't my favorite. They have a refrigerator full of drinks, only outdoor seating, and nice staff. Definitely recommend to try at least once. I know some people love this place and it's their go to so give it a go and see how you feel!

I'm not even trying to over exaggerate or make some crazy review. I'm from the east coast, I consider myself a pizza connoisseur. I've had them all to the thin bar pizzas from the Midwest, Chicago deep dish, New York style all over, Los Angeles (the worst) the bay (surprisingly, very good) but Buti have to give credit where credit is most Most deserved. This place is some very very special. When I tell you this is the best in the nation I mean it. I just got back from 4 days in the day and having nothing but pizza and Italian food I thought golden boy was the all time champ, but this place just seriously blew every pizza I've ever had out of the water! If you remotely like pizza you are doing your self a disservice by not stopping by and trying a slice. The pesto pie is seriously what I would want as a last meal that and a few ice cold cokes.

I decided to try this place out during Pride Month because I heard that it's LGBTQ owned. It's a small pizza place with limited outdoor seating. They had several pizza topping options, but surprisingly, they didn't have just pepperoni available. I got the pesto slice and cheese slice. Both were good, but they were a little greasy. The slices were a bit flimsy, but the cheese and sauce weren't sliding off. Out of all the NY-style pizza places that I've been to in the area, their prices for slices are the highest ($6 - $7 each). Some of the tables were dirty even though there were no customers. The flies were relentless, which made it unbearable to sit outside. The staff were chill. They do hand your pizza to you once it's ready.

Disappointing and greasy- 6.5/10 on the New York pizza scale (without being too personally identifying, I am from NYC). Two basic slices, two canned non-alcoholic drinks, and a 15 percent tip (because it's freaking pizza, which is never meant to be a major meal) was over 30 dollars. I hate how expensive pizza is here. Grease indicates a LOW QUALITY cheese used too much. Sauce was ok but not much of it. Crust would be better if it wasn't dusted in cornstarch. A lot of hipster pizza places do this-- it is not Italian to do so. The cornstarch makes it crispier. Some people may think they like a crispy pizza, but they're wrong. Pizza should be hot and have a good fold, but not be like a cracker with sauce and cheese. Use better flour and remove the cornstarch and this easily goes to a 7.5 slice because it does have the fold, which is rare here. Would have been willing to try the even more expensive vegetarian topping slices, but they weren't available and didn't want to wait for a new pie to bake. Really wanted to like it. This is not an old school place, more like a hipster's imagining of one. All this was said with love, would really like to see improvements...

Two times in a row now I’ve gone here late at night and left with no pizza from a restaurant that claims to sell pizza. The first time I got in line 30 minutes prior to closing and right when I got to the front they said they were out of pizza for the night even though they weren’t at their closing time yet. This past time I made a point to get there early. I ordered 3 slices and 4 drinks then went outside to wait for my order. I sat close by but never heard anyone call my name after waiting nearly 15 minutes I checked in and they said that they gave my pizza away already even though I clearly didn’t have it. They then no longer had the slices I wanted to redo my order because they gave them away to some other person with absolutely ZERO due diligence on making sure that was the right person who actually PAID for their order. This place is lucky they’re one of the only pizza places open this late otherwise I would never go here again. I usually tip very well but I’m now going to make sure my tips here reflect the service I’ve received...
