I have been coming to this cafe for about three years. Every time I am in town. Today sadly I had a really bad experience. I went into the corner cafe and tried ordering breakfast items and beverages, they told me that for any food items I needed to go next door and order there because their printing system was down, to which I agreed and processed to go next door to order food and beverages because they said it was easier to order all items together, while my companions stayed back saving the table so we could eat there. When I went next door the waitresses kept trying to make me sit without listening to what I was saying, until I said "please listen I want to order here to eat at the cafe", then when I was finally giving them my order they said "Oh no we don't carry any of those breakfast items, that menu is not offered" which I don't understand why they would have it on display but I just asked for a menu and went back to get everyone's pick. I went back to the restaurant and waited for them to take my order, after about 5 minutes the manager Patrick noticed we weren't being taken care of, but for some reason he thought the best way to approach us was to just say "what do you want" So I went on to explain the whole ordeal and he said " for here or to go?" and I said "well, its for here but we are seated next door, is that ok?" and he said "for here or to go?" and I looked at him and said "I mean I guess for here" and he said again and in a very aggressive tone " for here or to go?" to which I just said for here and proceeded to order, once I was done I started giving them my beverage picks and then he just said "we don't do that, here is just mimosas go back there for that". I really didn't feel like fighting this rude man so I simply said thank you made sure my order was right and proceeded to go back to the cafe for my beverages. after a good 30min we were still waiting for our food, so one of my companions proceeded to go check, and they said in about 10 more minutes. We waited those 10 more minutes and nothing. At that point we were done drinking our coffees and very hungry, so we ended up having to leave without getting our food.
The cafe is a lovely landmark of St.Augustine, and I won't stop going there for coffee, but nothing else. Terrible service at that restaurant. Can't tell you if the food was good or not... because I...

I would give this no stars if I could...
This place is extremely unprofessional. My husband and I came to St. Augustine on vacation, and one day we walked by while it was opened, so we made a note to try it out because it looked really cool. Three different times after, we checked Google (because they don’t have a website), and it said they were opened. We walked there and all three times they were closed with no sign. And no shop hours are posted. They simply open and close when they feel like it and customers just have to guess.
When we finally decided to try it out, despite the terrible reviews, I asked for an iced toasted coconut latte (which was on one of the many menus displayed). The words barely finished leaving my mouth before the worker (thin young man with black curly hair and facial hair) rudely replied, “I can’t do that. I can only do flavors you see here,” and pointed to flavors sitting on a shelf above the ordering counter. At that point, his sour attitude and lack of manners made me decide not to get anything. After looking a bit longer, my husband then asked again, “So you can only make drinks with these flavors?” And he responded VERY rudely, “YES,” with a tone like “I just said that.”
The checkout process was unbearable for me at this point because I could tell my husband was also agitated. This guy had THE worst attitude, showed no people skills or customer service experience, and had no manners. Maybe he was having a bad day, but if the situation were flipped and a customer came in acting like that, it would be just as bad! I almost grabbed my husband’s arm and walked out before ordering. The drink was over $5 and it was about the same size as a TALL at Starbucks. Not to mention it was mediocre at the least.
The little shack that the shop is in is kinda cool and unique, but I would NOT suggest spending your money there. St. Augustine has SO many other coffee shops to offer that I’d suggest visiting over this...
Read moreI was running away from him, the boy who I called, mating partner. He was a bore, thin like parchment. Not just his physique, but his character. Thin, the only way to see where this was going, there was only one way to deal with the, "Thin" .My feet started from a normal stroll to a running skip, I had to get away, I had to go, this was anyhow, bat country.(not really). Helios, was beating down on my scalp, pouring the sweat out of me like a confession in a tight room. Then out in the distance, shining like the cosmos, out came the most beautiful, most tranquil sight, I'd ever seen. Sucking me in like a black hole, holding me inside, for, ...the next, ....35 minutes, was I felt, my own little corner. Crucial Coffee Café. It was beautiful. The natives were beautiful. The garden was beautiful. The guy coming up the alley as a 19th century ghost was beautiful. A tear crept slowly down my pale cheek, as I took one step closer to the table. The writing on the wall was like an ancient world, forgotten by time, something hidden in the meaning. And with a slight exhale, from my lips, there, appearing like a ghost in the shadows, she asks me, with just a whisper,...."yyyeeeeeeesssss",.....it echoed in my mind. I stared into those glazed eyes, those eyes that seemed to see right through me. Then with great strength from within. I puffed out my chest, and with the power of Hades, I responded, ....."I'll have a hot mocha, room for whip cream, and chocolate on top. " It...
