I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but I had to sit down and write one for the outstanding service, food and atmosphere. I was in a real bind, and Brodies Seaport saved the day! My wife was having a big Birthday (I won’t mention how old.. lol) that I wanted to make special,,, but with all the COVID-19 restrictions we really couldn’t plan a party or normal event. The staff worked with me to create a ‘safe distancing’ environment on the patio, where we could entertain guests at separate tables,, and we somehow pulled off a fun evening event while abiding by all the mandated safety guidelines. Kelsey our server was outstanding and on top of everything, providing great service and attention throughout the evening. The chef did a great job with choice cuts of steak and seafood that everyone made comment on.. I’m sure they’ve made a few more customers because it was so good. I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The bartenders make a great drink, sooo many tasty margaritas we drank them out of Patron. Despite all the challenges, the owner and staff made this the special event I was hoping for. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Salem area to visit to Brodie’s Seaport Grill for a ‘safe environment’ featuring live music, great food, drinks and excellent service!

Look, there's a place for mediocre food in a town full of excellent restaurants. Sometimes you just want a cheap bite to eat. Totally get that. My friend and I stopped in for the half-priced burgers advertised on the sign outside. Having been once before and with no burning desire to return until we saw the special, I figured why not give them another try? At first, we were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very nice and efficient, and the burgers were actually not bad, given their reduced price! Then the bill came. Full price burgers. Hmm. We double-checked the sign, "1/2 price burgers 4 pm to close." We pointed this out to the waitress, and she seemed horrified, so she went to get the owner to void out the understandable mistake. She then comes back to inform us that the owner has decided not to honor one of the burgers as it is not the standard "Brodie's burger." We insist on what the sign says, then watch in amazement as the owner runs out with a piece of chalk and CHANGES THE SIGN so we can't call him out. Needless to say, we're going to go ahead and resume not settling for maybe the 84th-best restaurant in Salem. If you're looking to settle for mediocre, Vic's Station is just around the corner and has a better beer list.

If I could leave a 0 I would. Worst experience. Food is nasty and staff was terrible. Cooks don’t wear gloves or hair nets. Itching his nose and itching his ear. Chicken tenders had bones it too. Don’t come here. Manager didn’t even care! Since you guys are saying I didn’t talk to the manager here is who I talked to to. She is the one with the slick back hair and hoops in the picture. She told me and my friends that she was the manger when we asked for one. She was rude and unprofessional. Our waitress was rude as well. The place is dirty and our soda was gross. The cooks are dirty too. Where are their gloves when cooking? My friend got sick off of the chicken tenders that had bones in it. Can you guys please explain why there was bones in chicken tenders? This is really embarrassing and sad that we couldn’t even get an apology. Lastly, maybe clean your restaurant a little better, the bathroom is gross and the waitress was cleaning the table with windex. Now you guys have a nice day :)

DO NOT EAT HERE. I never write negative reviews, but this place was horrific. 5 of us ordered nothing more then burgers and salads. An HOUR after ordering the waiter apologized and offered us soup. We declined and just asked for chips and salsa if it was going to be much longer. The owner declined at first stating the chips were for nacho orders only. My thought process being you offered us all soups are chips not cheaper? I actually thought we were being gracious. He changed his mind a few minutes later and send two bowls of chips and salsa. Another half hour and our food was served. I bit into my avocado burger and right into cold raw meat. My friend next to me did the same. We called the waiter over, and this time the owner soon followed. We showed him the uncooked burgers, and he seemed annoyed with US! He grabbed both plates and instead of making us new burgers we watched as he had the cooks (we were seated right next to the grill) put our burgers WITH ONE BITE EACH TAKEN OUT OF THEM back on the grill. The grill they cook ALL the food on!! Longer story that I will try and shorten at this point. They cooked completely new burgers...yes STILL raw. Did not remove them from our bill and tried adding $12 for chips and salsa no less!! At that point we just wanted to pay our bill and leave, but at least argued about the $12 charge where the owner himself again came over and got right in my friend's face to try and intimate her. Arguing with her about the bill. (I wish I had it on video the way HE was acting) Finally, only removing the $12 charge because at this point we were drawing attention. DO NOT EAT HERE. BAD business. Waiter was kind and courteous. I felt so bad for him. Owner was horrific, and has no right being in business! Minus the health code violations! Who has a bitten burger put back on a public grill!!?? I felt he seriously thought he could just get away with it all simply because we were from out of town. Truly sorry I had to write this about any place. I have just NEVER had an experience like it anywhere! Simply...

Sorry for the long review, but please read

So, my mother has meniere's disease in both of her ears & it has caused a lot of hearing loss. We walked into this restaurant and were seated at a communal booth. There was a loud group right next to us, so we moved over so she'd be able to hear me better throughout the meal. Kidd you not, all we did was literally slide over to the next table at the SAME communal booth. Maybe 2 feet. It happened to be a 4-person table & the one we had was a 2. The waiter walks up and sarcastically asks my mom if there was something wrong with the little table & to avoid some long explanation (because again, she can't hear that well) she stated she didnt want to sit there. He flippantly goes "Oh well, okay then. Good thing we're not busy...". Then just proceeded to take drink orders as if he wasn't being a massive jerk. We got up & left.

Listen, I understand preserving full tables for larger parties, but you guys, there were like 3 other parties in this WHOLE restaurant. Slow is an understatement. His comment & attitude were unecessary, because we were of absolutely no inconvenience to him or the restaurant. Matter of fact, we get seated at booths & tables with 4 chairs all the time. Automatically... If this is how he's treating people, no wonder it was empty in there.

BTW: We ended up walking a little further & eating at Turner's Seafood. Excellent food & service. Oh & the hostess automatically seated us at a table that happened to have 4 chairs. I guess because it was an available table & we were paying customers looking...

As someone who has experienced traveling and visiting many restaurants around the world, I will say this is the worst experience I have ever had. I knew this experience was going to be bad when our server took 2/5 peoples orders at my table and walked away, disregarding the rest of us who were prepared to order. Very odd and off-putting. Nevertheless, we were sat at a table on the left side of the restaurant where we could see the cooking staff prepare the meals and I could not help but notice them picking their noses and scratching their heads (without fish nets) and proceeding to cook our meals without washing their hands. Very unsanitary. Three people at our table ordered Sprite and one ordered Coke and they all tasted like the tap had not been cleaned for a significant amount of time. We asked to for an extra plate and every person was charged $5 because we were ‘sharing meals’. This is written in small print on the menu. Although, when we politely suggested to the manager to train waitresses to make customers aware of the policy, she automatically became defensive and stated that since we work in the industry we should know to read every word on a two page menu. She was rude and unprofessional when we were trying to provide constructive feedback as paying customers. Not to mention, the burgers were burnt and there was bones in the chicken tenders which more-so resembled chicken breasts. 0/10 experience. Save your money and...
