Short and Sweet: Walking in, you feel the warmth of the place. You have MULTIPLE people making sure you have and excellent experience, and the food was excellent! Certainly try the Pepper Shrimp and Eggplant, and the (fresh) Salmon Fresca, it is to die for!
Long Version: To say this was a great experience is a gross understatement! I went with a friend who I haven't seen in a long time. We went to celebrate my birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
We walked in, and Amber was there to greet us. She warmly showed us to our table. It didn't seem like they was super busy, so she chatted with us a little bit after she sat us. She nonchalantly mentioned she was the General Manager! You could tell how much pride she has in her restaurant and how important is to her that her guests have a warm welcome. Having the GM come over and treat you like she treated us, well, you kinda feel like a celebrity!
Liz then made her way over. She was also incredibly kind and warm. She told us about a few appetizers to start. She made them all sound DELICIOUS so it was hard to decide. The Pepper Shrimp and Eggplant was phenomenal! Masterfully done! I appreciated that Liz didn't ever make us feel rushed, and was professionally attentive. We never had to ask her for anything, because she already knew what we would need.
Entrees came, and was brought to us by Nick. He was also very kind and warm. He made light small talk with us as he told us about our dishes. It is obvious he knows what he is talking about and that he has great taste! I have always appreciated restaurants where the servers work as a team to make sure everyone has a great time, and here you feel as though the whole staff was there to make sure you had a good time. We shared the Pasta Alla Vodka and Salmon Fresca! Again, masterfully done. Salmon Fresca is the perfect dish! The salmon tasted fresh and was presented on a bed of beautiful veggies such as sweet potatoes and spinach. The pesto drizzle over the top was the perfect final touch.
Since it was my birthday, Amber sent over a Tiramisu. I've had a really rough month, and this small act of kindness meant the world to me! Amber eagerly asked how everything was, and it was a treat to tell her how wonderful everything was. She graciously accepted the complements and invited us back. My friend and I sat and talked for a while after lunch, and she even came and said goodbye to us as she was leaving for the day. Great personal touch! I don't think she knows how much the small kindnesses she gave to my friend and I meant to me. I'm tearing up just writing this.
Excellent job team Brio! Keep up the good work. If Amber, Liz or Nick see this, thank you for making this lunch truly special and for your hospitality! You are all obviously the best the restaurant industry has to offer! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Thank you again to all the staff at Brio...
Read moreI hate giving 1 star reviews on a public forums. But when Management does not care to come talk to you, I don't think I have any choice.
Beware, they will charge you for a full appetizer when they run out of bread.
We ordered our food Mothers Day evening, and then after our drinks came out, asked our server about the bread thats usually served when we are seated. That's when he told us that they ran out of bread, which I am fine with, happens on high traffic days to the best restaurants.
We asked if they had any other bread at all, and he said we could order the Truffle Garlic Toast Ricotta. We just wanted some slices of ciabatta bread along with our pasta instead of the house bread they would have normally served and did not want to order the whole appetizer. We asked him if we could get just some slices of bread with our pasta, and not order the appetizer. Our server agreed, and the meal went fine, with the toasted ciabatta slices coming out with our meal (no truffle, no ricotta, just toasted bread slices). The food and overall service was good, no complains on that part.
When our bill came out, we were surprised to see a charge for the full appetizer, (Truffle Garlic Toast Ricotta). We asked our server why we were charged, when we just had the bread and they would have normally served bread anyways, he said he will ask his Manager. Our server came back saying that making the toast takes time and the best his Manager could do was to give us 20% off on just the appetizer charge because we wanted the bread, (which shouldn't be billed in the first place). We said we did not have the appetizer and would like to talk to the Manager (Shane?). The Manager did not come to talk to us, and just informed the server to tell us that there is nothing else he could do.
This was absolutely not what we were expecting from a restaurant like Brio, where we usually go out once a month.
We paid and left, but this definitely will make sure we do not return here again. It is not a question about a $19 appetizer when we had a $120+ check, its the principle of charging us for something they would have normally provided but ran out of.
The biggest shock is that after we explicitly ask to talk to a Manager that the billing experience is not what we expect, the Manager does not even have the courtesy to come talk to us!! Way to go on making sure people do...
Read moreI never and have and never done a review but my gf made me. We went to brio. I thought it was over priced, she thought it was lovely. So I was happy because she was happy. Our server was the bartender, name was freddie? Eddie? He was amazing. He was so busy I thought we were about to have a bad experience. But he greeted us with bread and water, brought my gf straw and lemon and Diet Pepsi, she is def high maintenance. He let her make over 7 changes to her pasta dish. I am simple. He advised me how to order my steak. Apparently there was a 22 people reservation ordering same time as we were. I saw our server literally jump over the divider to get to a computer and put our order in before that. Honestly I was already impressed. Our appetizer of carpaccio came out looking less then appetizing, I didn’t want to complain in front of my gf but then our server freddie/Eddie observed we were not pleased and said the same thing and then proceeded to correct it I guess… i really don’t get out much. Minutes later we got the best most delicious carpaccio we’ve ever had delivered by the manager Amanda who insisted on buying us dessert, which pleased my gf to no end which made me happy af. See, if she happy then I don’t care about nothing else… freddie/eddie? Kept our waters full the whole tîme, we never needed more bread, he made my gf the best Bloody Mary she ever had in the state of utah and I’m especially glad she liked her drink. Instead of getting dessert we shared another drink, my gf is from Bloomington, IN. he made us the best old fashioned we have ever had in utah. Apparently ´my wife pledged at the same sorority in Bloomington that he had bartended at.. some place called Kilroy. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Eddie/Freddie. Me and her were fighting but now we married ! Highly recommend this place. Plz be patient with the staff, they are doing the best they can! I love brio and will...
