The Beerhive isn't the same as it has been in the past. It was only a few years ago that if there was a new beer that came out, the Beerhive would have it. Not any more! In addition, the beer they do have isn't as fresh as it used to be. The past few times I've walked in, nobody even acknowledged me walking in and I eventually left since no employees came to take my order. I assume employers no longer walk over to tables to take orders? I went there a couple of nights ago and there were about 10 other people in the bar and 2 bartenders. The bartenders kept talking to others and never even acknowledged us walking in. I was about to leave but decided to get the attention of one of the bartenders. She gave me a beer menu and it didn't seem to have any of the more recently released beer. In addition, the beer I did order seemed to be old. Perhaps this is what the DABC or DABS sold them? They no longer offer food. It is a great bar and has an interesting history and I would enjoy going there if I got service from bartenders. I'm surprised with all the positive reviews as I've talked to others who walked in the bar and left after not receiving any service and not even being acknowledged as walking in. It seems they only acknowledge certain people and ignore the rest as I've seen people get service before me even though I arrived before they did. Before, you were approached by bartenders the moment you sat down and was handed a menu. Now you have to ask a bartender for a menu and also have to walk up to the bar or flag down a bartender to order instead of someone coming to your table. In one case, another customer assisted us by handing us a menu. She saw us sitting there for 20 minutes and figured we needed a menu. They don't seem to be the same bar as they were a...
Read moreI absolutely love this place! Not only does this pub offer an impressive beer list with a wide variety of options to suit every taste, but it also boasts a very unique feature that sets it apart from other bars. If you sit at the bar, you'll notice they have a frosted counter. This means the counter is cold and will keep your beer perfectly chilled throughout your visit. It's such a clever and practical idea, and I've never seen anything like it before!
The frosted counter adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience, ensuring that your drink stays refreshingly cold from the first sip to the last. It's little touches like this that make the pub stand out and create a memorable experience for patrons. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and unwind with friends or even on your own.
In addition to the fantastic beer selection and the innovative frosted counter, the pub also offers a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend a new beer to try or share interesting tidbits about the different brews on offer. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking for a casual place to enjoy a drink, this pub has something for everyone.
Overall, this pub is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates a great beer and a unique drinking experience. The combination of the extensive beer list, the frosted counter, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a standout destination. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their offerings while enjoying the perfectly chilled drinks on their frosted...
Read moreWell, I was excited to try a new bar with a wide selection of craft beer. These type of bars do not come around so often in Utah. Although I was pleased with the wide selection of beers, I was very disappointed with the customer service my friend and I received from our bartender Soupy. Now, normally when I go to a craft beer bar, and I ask for the recommendation of the bartender, they are excited to discuss beer with me, and what I should try. I asked Soupy what he recommended I get, that was difficult to obtain in Utah, as an IPA lover. He brought out 2Row's Random IPA, which no insult to them, I had already tried since it is available at the state liquor store. When I told him I had already tried that, he proceeded to tell me he did not have time to go over every beer at the bar. While I understand that, his response came across as rude and very condescending. I would have understood such response if I had told him I had a already tried several beers he had already brought out, that was not the case. Long story short, I then asked for a beer I found on the menu and he said he thought it might be too strong for me as an TIPA. I know beer and I know what I like, I just wanted your recommendation. As much as I wanted to stay and try other beers, I had a difficult time listening to the interactions he was having with other customers. I appreciate good customer service, and I tip well. I did not leave a tip for Soupy, as I was disappointed with his...
