Worst tasting acai I've ever had anywhere (Idaho, California, Washington). Protein powder tasted awful and wasn't mixed in (see picture), looks like they used canned pineapple (small wet chunks). Mango was a puree instead of fresh slices. Goji berries were hard and dried out, instead of being chewy. No idea how they came up with this horrible approach, but it's unlike anything I've had anywhere else in the northwest.
Staff is friendly and ordering is easy, but I encourage the owners to try acai at Vitality Bowl, to at least get a quality baseline.
To the Owner: I was waiting for your reply and you really delivered! I noticed you replied to every low rating and refuse to adjust your business practices based on this feedback. You really came through with a reply in less than one hour which ignores my feedback. "In matters of taste, the customer is always right..." Please listen.
You have numerous one star reviews talking about quality, but you're unwilling to listen to your customers. It's pureed fruit with fresh fruit topping. HOW CAN YOU SCREW THAT UP? But you found a way. I would like to nominate you to Kitchen Nightmares. You're giving strong Amy's Baking Company vibes.
Don't like Vitality Bowl? OK, try Boise Juice Company or visit the SF Bay. Here's the secret: you BLEND the base puree and mix ins when it's ordered (ideally in a Vitamix) AND then put on FRESHLY CUT fruit on top. Don't B.S. about going to Brazil. Your menu is very close to Vitality Bowl, which is not authentic Brazil, but that's OK! Just make the ingredients fresh and process robust and you can't mess it up. BTW, I've also been to Brazil. Yay for us. It has nothing to do with your food and...
Read morePlease review my full post on Yelp. I had a horrible experience with an employee Andy. She was disrespectful and accusatory towards me. I felt didn’t serve me based on the color of my skin. She never once acknowledged me whilst continuing to help another customer who walked in after me. She continued to ignore me until I asked for her assistance after waiting for over 4 minutes with not one person in line. When I finally asked for help she said she was really busy, and I wasn’t the only customer, but I was. She also stated she didn’t have to serve me?? I asked why? She said because I was yelling at her and trying to cause commotion. I asked her if she was going to help me?? Very shocking and concerning to have been treated in such an alarming way, and then to be stereotyped as someone who was yelling at her, and I was only asking questions. I won’t be back. A nice young lady did come out named Marianne and did a good job cleaning up Andy’s terrible disposition towards me. My son saw the whole thing and is still upset. He is 11 and he just wanted his smoothie. All the employees need to be trained on customer service. I just happen to be a mother of African American decent who was trying to get her kid a healthy treat and we both ended up walking away in tears. Awful service. Please educate your employees to help All and to acknowledge that we chose your place. And now regardless of how good the food might be. We can’t wash the horrible taste left in our mouths and for what??? Do your part Honest eatery and teach kindness, and joy to your employees, a smile goes a long way. Thank you Marianne for making my kid and his puppy very happy. A better ending,...
Read moreGreat way to start the day and get some “fuel” for day. This is my first time in SLC and also my first time trying açaí.
My palate tends to lean savory so I was hesitant to make my breakfast just an açaí bowl so I got the Genuine toast and junior sized açaí. I was allowed to customize my toppings but it wasn’t unlimited, but the gentleman who was helping with my order didn’t tell me until after I selected my toppings which was odd but he was nice and let me select a 5th.
The toast was delicious. The white spread on the bread was ricotta. I tasted some herbs but could not tell if it was in the ricotta or the toast itself, it was very subtle. Avocado was perfect amount of ripeness and chili flakes were just the right amount, I would not have minded more. There several choices of both savory or sweet toasts.
The açaí was good but I will say that I am not sure I like this sort of item for breakfast, it would have been perfect treat after my climb Ensign park peak however. There were chunks of ice in it and I would have preferred smoother icy texture. My teeth are quite sensitive to cold so it took me a while to eat. The passion fruit whip was delightful though. I may go back and try another bowl concoction!
This was a healthy and substantial morning meal and kept me satiated until 2pm. I had literally walked around the city and Ensign park and didn’t...
