Capo Gelateria Italiana — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Ice cream was delicious! But ….. The service was terrible!! The ice cream tall guy, was rude, he slammed the ice creams on the counter for us to grab, and he seemed rushed for us to leave. We got our ice cream and sat outside with my whole family. While we left our ice cream outside, my daughter and I went to the restroom, on our way back, the same guy looks at us trying to get out, I turned to look at him and he tells me that the door is closed. I stared at him like, “really!? So you want me to sleep in here!?” … He sighs and goes around the counter to open the door, while I genuinely asked him, “Oh, are you guys closed?” He responds, “It’s 4th of July!” In a rude tone and body language, so I said, “Okaay, I’m simply asking if you guys are closed. While my brother and niece went to the other door to grab a pizza, and he came back also saying that the hispanic lady working there was also rude. After finding capo gelateria, I never wanted boring stupid ice cream again. Especially not after enjoying the seasonal pineapple gelato with a little coconut gelato. And maybe the crema bacchi. Or the mixed berry. Or just hazelnut. sigh

I have been here too many times. And every time it is amazing. I once had the opportunity to speak with the owner whose name I can't remember now. I asked him what made his gelato so amazing. This kind man answered me in such a thick Italian accent I had no idea what he was saying but I could see how passionate and happy he was to explain his trade that I just listened and loved it.

In my opinion, there is no better gelato in Utah. It's an hour away from my house, and we still regularly drive up when we want a treat. My favorite flavor is amaretto, but they always have about two dozen flavors, frequently special flavors too, and everything I've tried was amazing. The gelato is smooth, creamy, and so delicious you'll want to lick the cup clean. They also offer soft drinks, coffee and espresso. I can't vouch for the coffee or espresso, but I thought I'd point it out for those who are interested. On top of that, they share a building with Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana, which has amazing pizza and Italian food, and smells like heaven while you order...
