Awesome food, quirky and interesting interior and totally friendly service. My mom and I came into this restaurant yesterday after reading the good reviews. We wanted something good, fresh, and casual. Spitz hit all three marks. I ordered the Doner salad. I love Doner-style bowls/salads and get them frequently back home in Florida. I ordered mine with lamb and my mom ordered hers with chicken. The food came out pretty quickly. The portions are big here, so you could easily split one meal into two and save it for later. The lettuce was crisp, there wasn't too much tzatziki (it was the perfect amount) and the meat was perfectly seasoned. I also really liked the fried pita they added to the salad. It had a sweet kick to it which was surprising but satisfying. The interior of this place makes it perfect for hanging out and it's really uniquely designed. Album covers are plastered on the bathroom walls, there's a chalkboard you can write on and it definitely has a hipster vibe but it's not trying too hard. I'll definitely come back.

Exactly the same as in their Lehi location: This chain restaurant has managed to break out of the typical chain limitations. Even though the layout of the restaurant feels like a typical chain, they’ve managed to design the front to look more upscale. The menu has a lot of good options. The food is expensive but good, and enough to have leftovers. We tried a bowl and the street cart gyro combo. The bowl was tasty. The gyro was excellent and enough for two meals. The pitas and hummus were delicious, albeit a bit greasy. The food is really high quality, especially given it’s a chain. The drink cup lid sucked, and leaked all over the place. Staff were pretty good. I really don’t appreciate the new trend of asking customers to sign and tip on a receipt in store after ordering and paying online. I don’t blame the staff for that though. The food was ready on time and packed well. This location seemed a bit more hectic than some of the others but is in a cool spot with a lot of other restaurants.

Tried out Spitz for the first time recently and, for starters, it was one of the best tasting meals I've had in a long time. Had the Mediterranean sandwich with beef/lamb and fries, and it was awesome. Truly delicious food. The sandwich was great, the fries were extra crispy, and their garlicky take on fry sauce was awesome. We all wreaked of garlic after the meal, but that was fine by us. They also had two fruit infused water variations that were refreshing and different (lime mint and orange basil, or something to that effect).

That said, being it my first time, the ordering process was somewhat of a joke. They had drinks listed on the wall, but couldn't see entrees anywhere. Once we queued in on the fact you needed to find a paper menu, we were on search for them. Even that was a chore, and we finally had to sneak a menu from the cash register where you order just so we could feel like we were making a quick decision and not holding up the line, looking at a menu where we should have been placing our order. The ordering process was kind of a disorganized mess, really, and as another reviewer mentioned, made this feel like I was ordering food at a bar, not at a place that primarily serves food (is this place a bar??).

Also, if you're a hipster on your first Tinder date, you'll be in good company. I don't know if that was a byproduct of being in Sugarhouse, or if this place is trendy enough that the hipsters flock there with their just-met-online dates, but never in my life have I been enjoying a meal and specifically noted how many first date conversation were going on around me. Just an odd observation, but made me chuckle at the time.

Overall a good experience. Hopefully the menus are easier to track down next time. I'll definitely be going back, and would recommend this place to...

Can't say much about the food and here is why...the service and attention to customers given by employees actually made me lose my appetite...for the food and to ever visit again. This is my very first time to spitz. First we ordered clearly three times because the girl could not hear very well due to the noise. We ordered a large hummus side as part of the order. We were charged for it. When asked if I wanted the receipt I said no. The order comes to our table and the hummus side order is not among the items. We asked the server about the missing item. She, black hair and vicious eye liner, was not even looking at us but much more concerned with getting the number off our table. She stated it was not on the ticket. We also asked for an extra fork and waited while she walked by looking over us three times. I went back to the girl taking orders who said with full FU attitude that NO, we did not order that despite the fact we said the large hummus side three times. She put her hands on her hips and yelled ill show you the receipt just wait. I walked off and sat down. I ignored it and tried to eat but was not able to enjoy the food I paid for.. I just can't believe the people that work here. As pretentious as the food? Don't know. The service...

Me and my husband are new to the city and went in for a drink here on a weekday afternoon. We sat down at the bar for at least 15 minutes and were completely ignored by the two guys working behind the bar. We ended up leaving completely without even getting so much as a look on our direction. For the record it was not a packed restaurant. There were two seats at the bar -which we took- and many empty tables. Now I'm not sure if we were meant to wait in line first or not considering that we had never been in before. It would have been nice to at least be acknowledged so that we could have been told that. One of the young men who had dreadlocks even made eye contact with me before turning to the register, fiddled with that then walked on the opposite side of the counter. I know he saw us sitting their. My husband is a rather large man and I was wearing s very bright pink coat. We were hard to miss. The neglect was deliberate and honestly hurtful. I do not like giving out bad reviews but I hope the staff can get some better training in customer service. Its especially disappointing because I genuinely wanted to try their drinks, I heard good things about the menu. However I don't believe in spending money where I'm...
