Came here with a friend for dinner and drinks. We brought our dogs with us and sat outside. Their ordering is convenient for those that come alone with pups, as you order through a QR code attached to the table. I ordered the Grape hard Soda and the chicken sandwich. The drinks came out fast, but barely any interaction with the staff - they acknowledged we had our dogs but we had to ask for water for them and the waiter seemed puzzled why we would ask. After a bit we got our food, came out looking good, but again the waiter - didn’t bring any napkins over and my friend ordered wings. We had to wait until we saw someone - flag them down and ask for napkins. My friend liked her wings, my sandwich was pretty good the chicken was beyond dry though. We ordered one more drink each, ciders, hers came out and the waitress asked if we needed anything else and I was like yeah I ordered a cider at the same time she did roughly five minutes ago and haven’t gotten it. She looked puzzled and confused, walked off. And took another five minutes to get my cider. At the end of the night for one person who ordered a grape hard soda and cider and the chicken sandwich was almost $40 bucks. The drinks were good but the food left some to be desired. And the wait staff - definitely needs improvements. The parking lot is small and fills up fast so get there early and take a smaller vehicle...
Read moreWe were in San Antonio for less than 48 hours, found this brewery on our first night, returned on our second night, and brought growlers and pizza home with us. We're planning a return trip to San Antonio for Fiesta and will DEFINITELY spend some more time here.
Parking might be challenging, but it's worth persevering. Check out their Instagram page for a map of available street parking.
Their Vanilla Joe reminded me of Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter, in the very best way. They have several IPAs, including a session, which both my husband and I enjoyed, and we can be picky about IPAs. We spent some time chatting with the owner on a relaxed Friday night, and he told us quite a bit about their taps. They always have at least one house made seltzer on tap. The current one tastes just like the Kool-Aid you loved as a child, but with a kick. They also have wine and sours. The guest taps were mostly from Texas and all were high quality. We didn't drink any of those, though, because we enjoyed the house beer.
2-1-Dough Pizza Company has a kitchen inside the brewery. This is an A++ collaboration. Their pizzas are worth the visit even if you don't like beer, but you really should buy the beer, too.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, great drink and food! You should...
Read morePreviously tried the Chorizo Pizza which had a nice kick as was quite tasty. Came back to try the wings and was not disappointed. They are not breaded, just thrown into the fire as is, and that's a good thing. They are meaty pieces and crisped up just right. I got the Mango Habanero sauce which is their hottest and it had a nice kick. It definitely had the Buffalo wing sauce taste you expect with a little bit of fruitiness from the Mango. It doesn't set your mouth on fire, but it brings some heat. The Ranch sauce that was included was quite good as well, and I am not particular fan on Ranch. It went really well with the house-made chips I ordered as a side.
I got their new seasonal beer the Dank Force Double I.P.A. to wash everything down, and that paired perfectly with the food. This is an IPA-lovers beer with a strong taste of hops and just the right amount of bitterness. Black Laboratory is my new favorite brewpub in San Antonio, and I will be back...
