Wing'z, Waffles & More — Restaurant in San Antonio

It's not a major chain. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles. But... food is made to order. You may sit upwards of 10-15 minutes. However, it's worth the wait. The wings are well battered and fried. They aren't drowning in sauce (unless you ask for it). And the tater tots just might be better than the fries. I'm a grown man and I'm not ashamed to say I'm going back for the tots. Lol. Don't expect too much from the waffle. Ihop, Denny's and Waffle House would crush them on an off day. But a waffle is a waffle when you're hungry. The drinks are typical for a small business, but that's what adds character to the place. You might pass the place TWICE if you're not careful. I hate writing a negative review about a local establishment. I try to visit many around San Antonio with the hopes of finding hidden gems. This is not one of them. I waited 30 minutes for my food during lunch (showed up at 11:40 am), the fries were cold, I did not like the wing flavor (it was lemon pepper but somehow the wings were sweet), and the sweet tea tasted like it was made in a pitcher that had just been used for kool-aid. I am not giving the place one star because there were other paying customers in the restaurant. Maybe the flavors just weren't aligned with my taste buds. Maybe the restaurant was just having a bad day. Maybe the waffles are truly out of this world. Regardless, I will not...

Some of the best wings I've had in SATX — if not THE best. And I've tried A LOT.

Nice and crispy. Great flavors (tried lemon pepper and garlic parm dry rubs). Fries are delicious (and I usually don't care for fries). Onion rings are good, too, AND the waffles were pretty tasty. Don't even need syrup.

The best part was the service. There was a young woman who was very attentive and easy going. Would go back just for her attitude. That's how great she was.
