If you don't mind discovering that some kind of powerful stimulant or narcotic was tossed into your food and you immediately get a hot face, flushed, dizzy, lightheaded, increased HR, blurred vision then enjoy. One man is supposedly training another woman speaking Spanish suspiciously trying to lean against one another and hide what they're doing. Had no idea why. In the past never had problems with them but they have all new people working there now and they all have and use earpieces in their ears connected to their smartphones talking to others while they are working and dealing with customers. Not normal, customary or practices in hospitality services especially food restaurants. Just a heads up. It only takes one call from somebody to spike a certain customers' food just like in Mexico where even the locals know they have to cover their drinks out of fear from their own people dosing their drinks with roofies or some kind of drug thing illegally for some nefarious, gaslighting, entrapment purpose. Just had vitals checked and was fine up until eating there. If you don't mind surprises like illegal substances put into your food then you know where to go while wondering why staffers are all just talking away on earpieces like some kind of clandestine spy operation on foreign soil but it's...

Used to love ordering from Nick The Greek when I lived in Santa Cruz. Never ordering from this bunch of absolute clowns ever again.

Paid $13.50 for a “salad” that literally contained a few pieces of hard pita bread, a few leaves of spinach and literally two pieces of chicken. Looked absolutely nothing like the photo on the menu. Daylight robbery. Absolute joke.

My wife’s food was hard and cold, and her salad had zero dressing.

Greek tragedy!!!

UPDATE: FAO the Owner of this store:

This photo is not from another restaurant. This photo is taken at home. We ordered food from your store through DoorDash. I asked my wife to double check which store she ordered from and it was most definitely your store. So, actually shame on you for throwing shame at a customer for leaving an honest review, rather than taking responsibility, and apologizing for a sub-standard product like most decent business owners do. Seems you are sensitive to criticism, and don’t like being held accountable.

If I could a half star or zero star review based on your reaction, I would do.

P.S. your menu says that your gyro salad...

I have been visiting California as someone from Savannah, Georgia. I stopped by the Ventura location of Nick the Greek with my family and was immediately impressed with the quality and variety of food. I could tell after eating the Beef/Lamb Gyro Pita and Greek Fries that the meal was made fresh. The staff took great care in preparing everhthing because the combination of Mediterranean flavors and spices were, in my opinion, perfectly balanced. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in trying Greek or...

Having eaten at Greek restaurants before, I can’t compare it to the authenticity. It’s just not the same. But the best example I can give you is that this is Greek version of Chipotle, with a bit pricier menu. Look, you can’t compare Chipotle to authentic Mexican food, but it is good for what it is. Nick the Greek offers big portions, tasty food and a very clean and neatly organized establishment. Their service is good and there is a nice seating area outside as well. Pictured is a falafel bowl and Nick’s fries with lamb gyro.

Food was delicious, service was fast, staff were extremely friendly! We went here on a busy weekend in the Gaslamp Quarter, with overflowed seating and a line out the door! Our orders were taken quickly and though there was a wait, it was quicker than expected given the high amount of traffic in the restaurant. Outdoor seating became available. I really appreciate the effort the staff put into the food presentation and making our experience memorable. I highly recommend this place to all, and will definitely be returning!
