My friend and I felt immediately comfortable in Florio Bar & Cafe. This welcoming restaurant is nicely appointed. The Brussel Sprouts were exceptional. The Fresh Roasted Eggplant and Goat Cheese Ravioli boasted complex flavors that scintillated the palate. The service and presentation of each dish was perfect. Oh, and the dessert we shared, an Olive Oil cake, (not pictured) was delicious. I look forward to returning to this restaurant. Update from recent visit on a Saturday night: The food and service is still top notch, but wow, the restaurant ambient noise sure is loud on a Saturday night!

5 stars for everything. We booked a reservation online for a group of 7 night before Saturday dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated in a private dining area, which made the dinner special. The food tasted like it was made with care. The service was wonderful too.

There are several restaurants in SF that make “simple” dishes extremely well. Florio is one of them. Both trout and steak frittes were excellent. The atmosphere is not as warm as I like it.

What a lovely restaurant! I cant say enough about Florio bar and Cafe. We had an amazing dinner for two, we had the Dungeness crab cakes as a starter, we both went with steak as the main entrees, filet and a New York, both were amazing. For side we went with asparagus and the Brussel sprouts, to which both were very tasty! The wine menu was nice with some savory local pinot noirs available! For dessert we have a chocolate dish and a caramel dish which were both handcrafted and absolutely to die for, just the right size serving and packed with very high quality ingredients! I have to tell you that the separator was not the food, which from my description you can see that we really enjoyed it however our server Josh was 1st class! He was on point, accurate and very professional. We have enjoyed many nice restaurants in San Francisco and I will tell you this is at the top of the list!. What you can expect is unbelievable service in a quaint, semi dark yet warm atmosphere. You will certainly enjoy your meal as every element of the meal was truly perfect! I do not give a lot of 5 stars because most of the time something could be better but I will tell you our server Josh paired with this wonderful dining experience put my 5 star rating over the top! Anybody that knows this area knows that you have many choices for dining on a wonderful street packed with wonderful boutique stores, I will tell you that you cannot go wrong here and would recommend this eatery above all...

I frequently visited this local restaurant, then moved to Marin for 9 years and just returned. The adept host, John, remembered me as well as Tara, one of the bartenders and several of the staff. They all welcomed me back. The fact that many of the staff members have stayed for years tells you that customers are happy because the staff is as well and always welcomes new and regular guests (and tourists) with the same warm and polite greetings. The food now is even better. Try the mushroom/celery salad. Fabulous. The chicken is expertly prepared, as are all the steak options. The tempting wine options and perfect cocktails are always available in a friendly bar scene, even if...

They didn’t want my money, I guess. I showed up hoping to get drinks and food at the bar. The bar was full (except for maybe one stray seat—we needed two). We stood at the bar, wanting to order drinks to sip while waiting for seats to open up—we saw one group paying a check. The bartender told us harshly that no one was leaving any time soon and there “really isn’t any standing room.” Another fellow seated at the bar said he’d be done in 5 or 10 but we said no need. TBH I’d rather just be told directly and politely that they’re full instead of the passive aggression we got. We went to the Tailor’s Son instead and got better...
