I love trying veggie burgers and meat substitutes, so I wanted to try Roam’s vegan bacon burger. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly expensive it was. At Shake Shack earlier this week, a bacon burger and fries were $14. This was over $25, and it wasn’t even meat I was paying for. That said, the burger was made of very fresh ingredients. The bun was wheaty and slightly sweet. The pickles were unlike any I’ve had on a burger before, more of a bread and butter pickle. The faux bacon was chewy like bacon and a little salty but not notable and definitely not crispy or fatty. The burger itself surprised me because it wasn’t even trying to be meat like. It seemed to be made mostly of rice and quinoa and didn’t have too much flavor. The best vegan part was probably the melted cheese, which passed reasonably for American. All of the toppings stacked so high it was actually very hard to eat the burger because I could only take partial bites of it! While it was warm and nourishing, it would not at all have satisfied a craving for a bacon cheeseburger. It was missing the fatty richness and texture of meat and fake meat products. The sweet potato fries were excellent, very crispy and fun, but did not combine at all well with the truffle and parmesan seasoning. I recommend going with the chipotle maple instead. I wish they only had two fry options - truffle russet, and chipotle maple sweet potato. So, it was all fresh and cooked well, but way, way too expensive for a restaurant without table service, and the vegan burger just didn't hit the mark. Some veggie burgers are so satisfying in their own right that you don't miss the meat at all, and this one really felt like health food. If you’re looking for something as a vegetarian that won’t make you miss Five Guys and Shake Shack, you should keep looking.

On paper the ingredients sound fantastic and original. The execution? No so much. I'm not sure what was more disappointing. Getting my lukewarm garlic french fries 10 minutes before my lukewarm hamburger. Looking at other reviews, the french fry orders have shrank in size. I enjoyed the fries but they were cold. Not sure if Roam intended them to be appetizers because they arrive far before the main course. The garlic was excellent but the cold made them unappetizing. We waited for the hamburgers, they arrive a long while after the fries. I suspect they do a lot of uber eats; lots of drivers were picking up while we waited for food. I suspect they prioritize the Uber Eats while the dining room waits for their food. I got the build your own. The meat was dry. It felt like the patty had been sitting for a while. The meat was warm but bordering cold. Paid extra for the brioche bun, wasn't worth it. The bacon, was cold, but still very tasty. I also had the $11 milkshake. Vincent Vega would be inconsolable. "That's a shake. That's milk and ice cream. Last I heard that's $5. Uh-huh. You don't put bourbon in or nothing?" The shake was tasty but small. Like small, small and that was the "LARGE". We have very different versions of what we think is "large". Not a good value in my book. Go to Salt and Straw. Lunch for two including a build your own burger and the burger my wife got, a ice tea and a large Milkshake ran $90 with tip. It's unfortunate. They have good ingredients but miss in the execution. I suspect they have to figure out if they're a sit-down restaurant or a Uber Eats kitchen.

This place is really amazing. The staff was so helpful and kind, very much trying to make us feel welcome without being overbearing. They have inside and outside seating! A very clear menu, and amazing options within the menu. This place was recommended online for gf and I was not let down. They also have lots of other options as well. I saw a picture for a chicken sandwich but it was breaded and I out loud said “oh I wish I could eat THAT!” And the guy was like “you can! It’s GF!” Whattttt so I ordered it and it was quite literally the best thing I ate on that entire trip hands down. Attached is a photo! My husband got a burger called the tejano for himself and he said it was delicious but he loved my chicken sandwich even better! That my friends, tells you how good it was! My hubby loves chicken sandwiches and has tried many - and this was in his top 3 ever! We also tried their made in house soda, I believe the seasonal flavor was blood orange and it was so delicious. The truffle fries were also amazing!

Roam Artisan Burgers: A True Culinary Adventure in Lower Pacific Heights

Roam Artisan Burgers, situated in the heart of Lower Pacific Heights, San Francisco, offers a culinary journey for burger enthusiasts looking to explore new heights of flavor and creativity. With its emphasis on high-quality, sustainably sourced ingredients and a menu that caters to a variety of dietary preferences, Roam Artisan Burgers has solidified its reputation as a must-visit destination for the discerning burger lover. This review will delve into the intricacies of the Roam Artisan Burgers experience, from its unique approach to crafting the perfect burger to the establishment's atmosphere and hospitality.

Nestled on the bustling corner of Fillmore and Sacramento Streets, Roam Artisan Burgers' unassuming exterior belies the gastronomic adventure that awaits within. The restaurant's simple signage and minimalist design exude an air of understated elegance, enticing passersby with the promise of a refined dining experience. Located in the vibrant Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood, Roam Artisan Burgers enjoys proximity to various shops, cafes, and entertainment venues, making it an ideal pit stop for those exploring the area.

Upon entering Roam Artisan Burgers, patrons are greeted with a modern, industrial chic atmosphere that perfectly complements the restaurant's inventive approach to burger creation. Exposed brick walls and high ceilings are adorned with hanging Edison bulbs, providing a warm and inviting glow to the dining area. Muted tones and subtle accents of greenery create a harmonious visual balance, while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the overall ambiance.

To whet the appetite, Roam Artisan Burgers offers a selection of delectable appetizers and sides designed to complement the main event – the burgers. The sweet potato fries, served with a tangy house-made chipotle aioli, strike the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A customer favorite, the zucchini onion haystack, features a generous portion of thinly sliced zucchini and onions, lightly battered and fried to golden perfection. For a healthier option, the seasonal market salad showcases the freshest produce, with ingredients that change according to the season.

Roam Artisan Burgers prides itself on using 100% grass-fed, free-range beef sourced from local, sustainable ranches. The result is a juicy, tender patty that sings with robust flavor. The Classic Burger, a simple yet satisfying option, is elevated by a house-made special sauce that adds a subtle tang to each bite. LIFE. CHANGING. BURGERS!

Seriously... Have you ever had a burger before...? The answer is "NO," No you haven't because you haven't had a Roam Burger yet!!!

I dare thee to challenge their flavor combinations between two toasted buns. If I might make a suggestion too. If it is your first time there then get the Tejano. You're welcome in advance. Even if you don't like some of the ingredients on the burger, it's still going to change your life. You palate is going to be changed forever.

Oh, get a house sauce and pickles on the side. You're welcome again.

My dad's quote (who is old I might add) "probably the best burger I've ever had". My best friend's quote (separate occasion) "probably the best burger I've ever had... I can't think of a better one, but I'm leaving the probably in there just in case" My friend Jessica (a true foodie indeed), the second she took a bite she goes "OMG... OMG. This is soo good". They all had the Tejano.

I've taken more than 50 people here (I live and go to school close ok...), and not one of them was not thoroughly impressed by their burger (not always the Tejano).

They have many burgs, I've tried them all, and in different combos. The heritage is a good standard burger if you're afraid to let your taste buds run completely wild. The sunny side is pretty amazeee. Ummmm, I'm too tired to keep typing and you're probably done reading this anyway. But if you are still reading then you get an extra-special second life-altering gem from this location. THEIR SHAKES ARE THE BOOOMMMBBB!!! Specifically anyone that they make there... but more specifically get the Hazelnut Chocolate Shake. It is the best shake you will ever have. Close your eyes, enjoy. It's basically nutella, but again... life-changing.

Happy Roamin'

PS: The animals are all fed grass before you eat them so that makes them more delicious... not...
