I seriously can't say enough bad things about this place. We went here a week ago and I'm just now getting around to writing this because I truly just wanted to forget the experience. The waitress and bartender (I have other names for them but I don't think Yelp will allow me to post this review if I use them) were completely rude and unaccommodating. Now, by unaccommodating, I mean COMPLETELY unaccommodating. Here's our 43 minute experience:
5:30pm - Hubby arrives before me and our friend. He chooses a round table near the entrance so we can locate him quickly. Dear hubby shouldn't have worried because it appears that others are already hip to the fact that you just don't go here. So the place was half empty.
5:35pm - Hubby orders a drink from a woman who acts like she's irritated to be bothered by serving him.
5:45pm - Hubby gets drink and proceeds to drink it. No problem here...you can't screw up a Cap'n and Coke. He sits at the large round table for 4 awaiting his wifey and wifey's friend.
5:50pm - Patient hubby orders second drink.
6pm - Wifey and friend show up (a bit late) and give hugs to hubby. Wifey (that's me) doesn't feel like sitting at the table and wants to sit at the bar. So hubby obliges and moves THREE FEET to the bar. This is where it gets good...... we moved THREE FEET.
6:01pm - Maleficent the Waitress descends upon dear hubby and demands payment before he leaves his round table for 4. Now, mind you, we weren't leaving. We were moving THREE FEET. Dear hubby reaches for his wallet. Wifey (me) is assuming Maleficent doesn't realize we're staying. I explain that we're just moving THREE FEET and that I promise, he will not skip out on his bill. Maleficent turns to me with the most hateful look and barks that he must pay his tab before leaving the 4-top. Whatever. I sit down at the bar and tell my hubby that I will pay for his drinks. I do this so I can make sure she doesn't get a tip (something my hubby would never do).
6:10pm - After the ridiculous shuffling and wondering if we should stay...my friend has proceeded to order us drinks. The BARTENDER informs us that we'll need to settle up the tab from THREE FEET AWAY. I inform the bartender that THAT was not OUR tab. WE JUST ARRIVED AND WOULD LIKE A FREAKIN/ DRINK. Seriously????
6:11pm - I pay the 4-top table sans tip whereupon Maleficent holds up the tab and the $$$ for the bar and all its inhabitants to see that I have not provided her with a tip.
6:12pm - we leave the bar and go next door to a better world.
Now hear this Harrington Bar and Grill....I have a big mouth. I drink A LOT. I go out and about A LOT. I will combine these talents by making sure that I tell every soul within a 300 mile radius of your establishment to NEVER GO THERE. You suck.
If you happen upon Front St and would like a drink without having to deal with post-menopausal wretches....hit up The Royal Exchange next door...
Read moreMy recent experience at Harringtons Bar and Grill was less than enjoyable. When we initially arrived and the general appearance was that of a standard dark/dingy pub, nothing special other than it is located by the Embarcadero. As the night continued I made the mistake of opening a tab and trusting them with my credit card. I bought five “Irish Car-bombs” for myself and some of my friends. As the bar tender was pouring my drinks I turned around to gather my group of friends. When I turned back around two of the shots had been drunk by random people. I pointed out the empty shot glasses to the bar tender and she told me that was not her responsibility and if I wanted those drinks I would have to pay for the shots a second time. So she ended up charging me for these shots that we didn’t even drink. So at the end of the night our tab came and I figured the bartender was not looking out for my best interest and with them double charging, I paid my tab but the extra drinks came out of the bartenders tip. The bartender made a scene in the bar and was now all the sudden concerned about who drank my shots. My tip to this company and staff would be that you will get more from a happy customer than a customer than a customer that you are knowingly trying to take advantage of. To the bartender my tip to you is to just remember that the bar may be employing you but the customer is one who pays your bills. This bar operates under shady business practices. They over charge you if you open a tab. I don’t trust the employees here and for that is the reason I gave them a...
Read moreVery disappointed with my last visit. I’m never going back to the place again. It’s sad because I was a regular at the place and i loved it. The food was great, the service was awesome and all in all a great vibe. The last visit, the server (who’s usually very nice) was extremely rude. And she said something to the bartender and her attitude changed towards us immediately. My friend tried to take a picture and the bartender told us that we’re not allowed to take pics. We tried to order food and the bartender pretty much told us to F off cause she’s “busy”. I NEVER leave bad reviews EVER. But this experience was so depressing that i had to say something about it. It kind of feels quite racist of the server to treat us that way. I would love to go back to the place cause i love their food but the service this time treated us like third class citizens. My whole weekend was ruined because I kept thinking.. what did i do to deserve this kind of rude...
