Wanted to treat my wonderful mother to a fantastic birthday dinner at what seemed to be a cute little italian restaurant, unfortunately this did not happen. I have never ever been treated so poorly by waitstaff/management in my entire life. Dinner started off okay, we got our drinks and appetizer relatively quickly, great so far. Then we ordered our meals, two pasta dishes, with about 8 pieces of ravioli, and it took about an hour and half to come out. The waitress said that she was serving a party of 30 at the same time, im also in the service industry, so it’s totally understandable- and I gave her a pass for that. Then, we order dessert, it takes about 30-40 minutes to come out, we finish it, and we are ready for the bill, the waitress is nowhere to be found. Then she comes over to our table, when we have not even received the bill yet, and says and I quote, “We need the table, can you guys leave”? Im absolutely shocked, she swiftly turns around and prints the receipt and drops it on the table. At this point, I asked to speak to manager as this was not at all the experience that I expected to have here. The manager was even worse. He actually argued with us about how long we waited for our entrees, and would not listen to us, when he asked what happened tonight. Clearly- He was more concerned with us leaving a bad review, than taking care of customers. Would never recommend this place, as they completely ruined our evening, and my moms...
Read moreWe wanted to take the family somewhere nice but low-key on New Year's day, and Ristobar did not disappoint. First, they were amazingly accommodating with the reservations - especially since we had to shift times, and the number of people in our party (and then accidentally showed up nearly thirty minutes early).
Mattea was an absolute gem, and had us seated in less than five minutes from our arrival. He was chatty and cheerful, made excellent recommendations and tasteful jokes, and even made sure we had a beautiful champagne toast, for good luck. The service was top-notch - everyone was incredibly helpful and kind, without being overly fussy or formal. Everyone felt very at-home, and we had a great time.
The food is simple, fresh, and well-seasoned and prepared with true-to-origin Italian recipes. Everything we ordered was lovely, and even the picky eaters were happy. Nothing was overly elaborate or garnished - just presented beautifully and with good taste. We highly recommend the sea bass, as well as the pasta vongole e gamberi - but everything was good, and tasted like a freshly homecooked meal. The desserts were absolutely to-die for (especially the tiramisu!).
We all left excited to return, which is a real feat. Thanks for making this such a great experience! We're excited to...
Read moreIf you're searching for a slice of Italy in San Francisco, Risto Bar is the place to be. The margherita pizza is nothing short of phenomenal - with the perfect combination of tangy tomato sauce, melty mozzarella cheese, and a crispy crust that's simply divine. One bite and you'll be transported straight to Naples.
But the culinary excellence doesn't stop there. Risto Bar's drinks are equally as impressive as their pizza. I can't recommend the amaretto sour and the Risto margarita enough - both are expertly crafted and absolutely delicious. Trust me, you won't find better cocktails in the city.
And the service? It's second to none. The bartender June is a true gem, with an infectious personality and a wealth of knowledge about the menu. She's passionate about her craft and it shows in every drink she makes. Not to mention, her customer service skills are impeccable - she made our visit to Risto Bar a truly unforgettable experience.
In short, if you're looking for a restaurant that has it all - fantastic food, amazing drinks, and exceptional service - Risto Bar is the place to be. And when you go, be sure to try the margherita pizza and say hello to June for me. You won't be...
