Shanghai Kelly's — Restaurant in San Francisco

Eh. I've heard so many cool things about Shanghai Kelly's over the years and finally decided to visit. After the standard ID check at the door, I was met with a very curt and unfriendly bartender. Any "legendary local" bar should have a friendly face on their establishment. I frequent an embarrassingly amount of bars in this city. Anyway, I ordered a beer and a shot. Took in the decor while I chatted with my friends. Then left to spend my money elsewhere. I guess this place didn't live up to the hype for me. That and the cranky lady behind the bar just didn't have me wanting more. Maybe it was an off night, maybe I was expecting too much. Regardless, 3 stars for the decor...

Chelsea is hands down one of the best bartenders in SF! She’s friendly, quick, and makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. I am not a drinker anymore, so I usually don't hang-around them now. But I went with a friend who was supposed to be meeting someone. Whilst in the waiting zone I played a couple of patrons a round or two of pool. I ended up having an absolute splendid time.
