Giligin's — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I have been to this bar many times with great service, so here is what happened when i was in there Friday night on arriving i met my party of about 10 ppl and the waitress not sure what her name was but she was dark brown hair with a beanie on and she asked me would my drinks be together or separate from the table i told her separate then after a few drinks one of our shots we got was in a paper Dixie cup i concede that they ran out of shot glasses mind you this was at 7 or so. Then when i needed to get another drink we waited for about 25-35 min had to ask the other bar tender to fetch her she came over and i cashed out she then tried to bill me for the entire check which clearly told her i was separate then i had to tell what my drinks where cause she could not recall and paid my tab of 35.00 tipped her 3.00 cause the service was lousy but i wanted her to have a little tip. then i tried to get a drink from the bartender which he told me that since my party was at a table and not at the bar that we had to get drinks from the waitress and i told him ill just take my business elsewhere then i walked out on the patio and my friend got a drink from the bartender and we played connect four and was having one more beer before i left and that same waitress came up to me and asked if she did something wrong which she did but i did not want to make a fuss about it so i replied no i was having one more beer then leaving and did not want to open a tab so at this point she told it that it really odd on a 50.00 tab that she gets a 3 dollar tip and i told that it was 35.00 tab she then implied that she took off deductions to make it 35.00 i was unaware of that and apologized but i found this terribly offensive that she was shaking me down for tip money like that i don't get offended a lot but i did not feel welcome there anymore at all and will never go back and neither will my party as well. My friend later told me she the waitress was complaining that the tab was over 90.00 which is a lie since the original ticket was 79.00 and that we were cheap, classy...

I’m a scottsdale native and have lived here my whole life, and never experienced the mistreatment like I did last night at Gilligins. This was actually my first time and I was really excited since this is one of the most popular bars in old town. We opened a tab, and let the bartender know we were leaving but would be back at some point. We eventually made our way back and it was packed, but we saw an open barstool so my friend took a seat. A minute goes by and a guy confronts her and says that was his seat. We said sorry but it was open and you didn’t have someone save it and no one around us said anything. He told us was there alone. Immediately this guy goes to the bartender and tells him my friend spilled his beer all over the floor and demanded a new one and told the bartender not to serve us. Despite the fact that this guy was yelling and dropping profanities left and right the bartender smiled and nodded and said he wouldn’t serve any of the girls in our group. Literally had to flag down a different bartender to close our tab since he completely ignored us the rest of our time there. I’ll never be back. Pattie’s has a similar vibe and the bartenders are actually so nice every time I’ve ever gone. When we came outside to leave we hung out on the patio for a couple minutes waiting for Ubers and of course he comes out and starts talking about us to the bouncer, laughing pointing etc. couldn’t have had a worst first, and last, experience...

I can not say in my life say I have ever been so disrespected and offended as I was by the manager with glasses at this bar. His give a sh** attitude was impressive. I watch South Park... not offended easily haha.

But seriously don’t go to this bar they don’t want customers according to the manager with the glasses. I don’t post reviews often but I am actually taking the time to craft this one with the hopes to make a change within the establishment. 16 people showed up with money to spend and three of them on different occasions were taken aback by how rude this one bar tender with the glasses was. Just walked away when one of our friends asked a question about a beer in tap... Only here for literally 10 minutes. This must not be an isolated incident... if you watch this guy and how he spoke to his customers he clearly didn’t care.

I am trying to describe him with the hopes that the owner of this establishment let’s him go or at least if you are the owner, man in the glasses slightly balding approx 5 foot 4 remember when you treat people poorly they can leave a google review to warn others to go somewhere else before they give you their hard earned money. All we wanted to do was order drinks... Can’t do that don’t work in a bar.

Solution let this guy go or don’t go here... market economy wonderful thing.
