Disappointed. Could have been epic, was meh. First off - if you are a large party - do not book as a single booking, you will get 20% mandatory gratuity and sub standard service. We booked as a large group and ended up crammed into a substandard amount of space. We were 6 to a lane for axe and curling, meanwhile, lanes of 2 being used next to us.
Curling - I was so excited to try this, but it wasn't good. The team have allowed the stones to sit on the ice and melt a groove. You aren't standing on the ice (which I can understand), which means you have a small section to throw the stones, but because the stones have melted grooves in that section - you can't really launch the stones right, making the whole experience sub standard more than a little awkward. We didn't score anything because we were never shown how, we didn't use the sticks to launch the stones - because we were never shown them. We took turns and never really got into a rhythm because we were only given 2 lanes - yet 2 lanes remained unused the entire time we were playing.
Axe throwing - good instruction from one of the staff, but he disappeared soon after we started and we didn't really see him again (even though we paid an extra 20%!). 2 lanes were just crazy for 12 of us, again, we never got into a rhythm. We weren't shown how to score, so we didn't.
For the amount we paid and the experience we had - we would never return. If you are a big group and want to try curling - this is likely your only option - but book in smaller groups and set expectations - you will not stand on the ice, you will struggle to throw the stone and if you do, you likely need to use a stick - which is basically shuffleboard.
If you want to try axe throwing, try somewhere else - lots out there and I have been to a few that are way more relaxed, far more focused on your experience and you will not feel nearly as constrained or crammed in.
I recommended my group of 12 family, that had travelled from overseas, try this as I thought it would be great. I lost a lot of credibility as the bad outweighed the good significantly. The pricing practices are unfair and frankly unnecessary - we received no special service for the additional charges we were forced to pay.
I am sure the owner response will be that they thank us for the feedback and will pass it along to the team - whereas, what they should be doing is refunding the 20% service charge to my credit card as a gesture of goodwill, closely followed by removing that policy from...

Read moreMy friends and I did a thing Saturday night and that would be ice curling! After spotting a quick reel on IG that Lane Park had made recently, we all thought, “What? You can do this here?” and we made reservations! We thought it was something just for Winter Olympics, but now us regular people can partake in the sport too.
You should think that this “sport” would be easy but I greatly underestimated how tough it would be sliding 40-ish pound granite stones across ice such a long way. It seems like giant shuffleboard almost with slightly different rules but more physical. I had to use two hands while on my knees to effectively push the stone. My husband, well, he effortlessly did it one handed but sometimes too strong. There was definitely a balance!
Christian helped gather the granite stones at the end of each round and got them into place to start again. He helped reviewed rules with us and some techniques and how to score. He was so awesome! He was our judge and tie breaker at times because my friends and I got pretty competitive! Lol!
Caity was the lovely bartendress and the first one to greet us and check us in. She was so helpful and so good at making sure we had drinks and food if needed throughout our stay there!
The decor was fun inside and there were other games like duck pin bowling and axe throwing available if we wanted to stay longer. The prices for ice curling were $20 per person per hour which isn’t that bad if you think about it. We had so much fun and will...
